I know it is unconfirmed but what race would you make him out to be? (it can be original or part of an existing race)

I'd make him half Human / half Shokan, that could explain how he is the size of Kintaro with the frame of a Human and his face (for those who have seen it) looks like what I'd expect if I saw a cross-breed between the two. I guess the four arms wouldn't be heriditary then, aye?

I just picture him being some unknown race close to humans and people from Edenia. Whatever his home world is.

I doubt he has any shokan in him. I always thought of him as some sorta demi god. There really isn't much known about Shao Kahn so it's pretty hard to figure out anything about him.

There are three rules for doing scientific research. Unfortunately, no one knows what they are.

Well, I don't want to be digging up old issues here, but...

IF Shao Kahn was Reiko, this would explain a lot.

In many mythologies, before the coming of man there were other humanoid races on the planet which exceeded present day humans in terms of size, power, intelligence and strength (cfr. the Titans) and often assumed god-like powers.

Building on the amount of mythology in the past of MK, why could Reiko not have been such a creature? Surely, to be alive after more than a few million years is a miracle. And IF he is Shao Kahn, it would explain why Kahn is so large and powerful.

Or, a more bland explanation, he could also have been an exceptional human being with exceptional powers (a mutation of some sort). In that case a true Outworld-born Shao Kahn might be more probable.

The creators of MK already said Reiko isn't Shao Kahn. Not to mention the size difference and power difference between the two fighters is rather obvious.

I think that Shao Kahn is a completely different entity and that even though he is dead, a part of him probably lives on.

the same can be asked about quan chi

maybe they are from the same world
who knows?

i can only assume that kahn's world is destoryed

shao kahn lived in outworld..he didn't make it

his world must have been taken over during the DK's(or people after him) reign of terror

did shao kahn live in his world before it was taken over? at what point was his world taken over? was he born in outworld?

maybe he is from the same race as the DK

so to answer your question, i will just say he is outworldian

Shao Kahn is a kind of god/immortal force. Not a member of a race. I believe that in the MKII instruction Book (haven't seen one in a while), they show him with his mask off. He's totally different from every other race.

PS does anyone else believe that Reiko is actually Shang Tsung?

just because he looks nothing like any race we have ever seen doesn't mean that he isn't a member of a race

i think he is from the same race as the DK..like their people were the first to star conquering realms..DK dies, shao kahn takes over in the name of the "dragon" people

In Raiden's MKDA ending they show a picture of the DK. It's pretty vague, but the DK and SK look way different, and I doubt they are from the same race.

But yeah, Mister_Satan666, Outworldian is as good a term as any to describe him.

Shao Kahn is some type of super natural Immortal being. An Entity or most likely a Demi-God. Once Kahn has the Earth realm he will have higher authority over the Elder Gods and will most likely become a God. So it's safe to say that he's an Immortal being like a God.

I always figured that Shao Kahn wasn't really a member of any race, but more like the personification of evil. Like, just random evil thoughts taking on a "human" form.

And, although it is completely non-canon, I will mention Jeff Rovin's MK Novel. In it, the main God P'an Ku essentially dies and therefore 'becomes' the entire universe. His left eye the sun, right eye the moon, his evil side = Shao Kahn.

(Thank God no one mentioned the whole MKA thing where Raiden/Shao Kahn are brothers)

LOL!!! I forgot all about that! Yes, of course they are brothers!!! tongue

j/k

Anyway, I think if the MK team were to put Reiko in MK6 or a future MK game with his storyline having some sort of connection to Shao Kahn, then perhaps some questions can be answered. But then again, perhaps they should make another MK mythology game but this time taking on the roles of the bad guys such as Shang, Quan, Shao Kahn, Reiko, etc.

Kahn may not have any shokan in him but in the booklet for MK2 on Sega Genessis they have a picture of him unmasked and he has kinda Dragon like features on his face.

is there a website where i can see shao khan's face unmasked?
I think Kahn is part of the Dragon Kings race because his face looks like that of a dragon; maybe he was a soldier in the Dragon Kings army because, even with his mask on, he resembles the troops of the his army.

Shao Kahn

Whatever you can make from that... that's his "race."

I always figured that Shao Kahn was just a warlord type character that traveled between realms conquering until the realm was pretty much dead and then moving on for a fresh start. He invaded Edenia, killed King Jerrod and took Sindel as his bride and turned it into Outworld. After a while Outworld was a really shitty place to be so, what the hell, just take over a different realm.

I never thought much about race because he is just a mean, evil conqueror that has conquered probably a few realms.

But thats all my opinion :P

man Siaboot I had seen those awhile ago... I think he's more of a mix between a No-madd n a Shokan or an entirely new Race altogether this just based on the pictures...
