single player difficulty ?!?!?
single player difficulty ?!?!?
WTF? i am a pretty good player but the difficulty is absolutely unbearable and most importantly no fun whatsoever! kind of a pre requisite of a good game. anybody got a cheat code for difficulty? or a pattern for these cheesy A.I. routines???

i dont know what your tyring to tell me! explan it a little bit better next time!

sorry i was not clear...... the game is freaking hard!!! the only workable pattern i can find to win, is to jump away and attack. the computer will use a projectile and then you can attack. but other than that the computer is so cheap! it can read your controller inputs!!! just wondering if anybody else has found a working pattern or cheat code?

pick cyrax and do his net, then go to the person into the net and then do an uppercut. keep doing this and doing this and you should win! hope this helped you!

I beat it 5 times already
I've been using Sub-Zero to beat Shao Kahn, if you know how to do combos Motaro is a breeze.
Near the edurance though when you get to either Jade, Sonya, or Sub-Zero just keep using different characters. (I usually get jade, sonya, or sub-zero near the end).
Heres my techniques: For Jade since she seems to be really hard I just use Mileena most the time and use her specials. Never try to hit her with a projectile though. I also once beat her by ducking for a long period of time and waiting for her to walk over, then I uppercutted her. Kabal is also a very good character to use if you get stuck. He has a very easy combo too. Just jump at the opponent using Kabal (when you can jump) and press Y,Y,Y down+Y (at that point they should be in the air) then jump and kick them, then repeat. Sub-Zero can also be a help because the ice clone can be very helpful. Just have to time it right. Usually I just freeze them and uppercut, I usually don't use combos when there is a free hit. Hope that helped.

did i help?
The difficulty reduces every time you get beat by the CPU, here are some glitches you can do

copy and paste away.

The CPU is rather easy...if you're a noob, then it'll hard....
The machine has patterns that are easily predictable and can be defeated rather easily, and I'm not talking about infiniting the machine to death with run jabs...
There's an easier way...
I'm tempted to tape myself playing it and beating it with Ermac, Cyrax or Smoke just to prove my point...

thanks LORI9 i appreciate the help!!! and to MKFLEGEND i am glad you are sooooooo good at the game! i am no NOOB and have been playing MK since it was invented. i am also not the only one having difficulty as just about every review i read says the same thing. " absolutely no fun as a single player experience " " A.I. is cheap" so, and so on, unfortunately for me MK3 is my least favorite mk and did not play as extensively as i have played MK1, MK2 or Deception. so if you have found an easy way to beat the computer and you wish to share then please do so. otherwise save the bragging for someone who actually gives a F@*K

First of all, that's a poor attitude which I take from nobody, especially some ignorant noob. But I'll let it pass since you're new. You misunderstand me.
Second of all, it wasn't in a "bragging" matter but rather a factual one. Lots of people complain about the "CP being cheesy" yet it STILL has a pattern none the less, you can snuff out charging computer foes with a mere hop kick (that's up and LK or HK) or just pick Robot Smoke, jump back make them throw a projectile, then go for the teleport uppercut, spear, combo..repeat...it's not rocket science.
Or you can pick Scorpion, do the same thing but when you jump back, make them throw whatever at you, then teleport punch and immediately do a spear. Works EVERY time if done right.
Try these tactics out because since I can explain them rather then waste time taping such an easy tactic. I can explain so just as easily and faster. Try them out and see for yourself. There are other tricks with other characters but try these easy ones first since you're new.
Some how I find it difficult to believe that you're "a noob" yet you say you're been playing MK forever? right...I don't believe you've been playing UMK3 for while now at all since you made this post.
No offense kid but if that were true I doubt you would have made a post complaining about the CP being "too difficult"
You're a nooby, admit it. It's really not a big deal, just drop the defensive attitude and I'll be more then happy to help you out.

So far I've beaten the game 6 times since I got it.
I've been Sub-Zero, Classic Sub-Zero, and Smoke to beat it. Motaro is the easiest to fight in the game if you know what to do. I can get flawless victories over him. Shao Kahn is sorta hard, but I usually get in the left corner and uppercut him when I get the chance.
I beat Noob Saibot earlier for the first time.

It's not that hard, like most games...the CP has patterns...
But playing with patterns is boring. i dont know why they did not keep the A.I. from MK? it was fun, challenging but completely playable!!!!
has anyone else seen the 15 backgrounds they advertise on the box? i just keep getting the same 4 backgrounds over and over again? i have not seen the bell tower or subway or even the soul chamber. are they in the game? are they in the single player game?

The older MK's have always been like that man. Since you're new, it's obvious you're not aware of that.
The 4 backgrounds over and over is common in UMK3, although the MK 3 ones DO exist in the game the machine will randomly choose some of those stages here and there. So yes, the MK3 stages ARE in UMK3 they just don't pop up often in single player mode.
If you play online it'll automatically rotate or you can choose any stage from UMK3 or MK3 with the vs. screen codes.
I too have felt the wrath of the mighty Shao Kahn. I recently purchased Ultimate Mortal Kombat and I found it harder than usual. I'm no noob but this is ridiculous. I plugged in my SNES and tested my theory and it is true, there is a significant increase in difficulty. The only possibility that I am unable to test is if it an arcade port (highly likely) has the difficulty been amped. Motaro grabs me mid-uppercut, and Shao Kahn is, dare I say, harder to beat the Kintaro. As I said before, I'm no wuss, I've paid my dues and if I want to cruise through the game on novice while waiting at the repair garage thats my right, but instead I'm screaming at my DS while the other patrons hope their cars get fixed faster than mine so they get away from the crazy guy.
OOOPS I TAKE THAT BACK!!!! so you have to play through the lava ( inferno ) stage twice without uppercutting !!!!! and then you will start to cycle through the MK3 backgrounds!!!!! you will see the desert againg but then it will continue through the MK3 backgrounds!!! and all the pits work!!! YAY!

Nope, you're thinking of MKT=Mortal Kombat Trilogy.
Two entirely different games man.
