Very very strange stuff. It was kind of like an 'MK Anthology' rather than anything else, as it seemed to combine everything from MK1-MKD...In this dream, I was reading a strategy guide for the game, which was for PS1, and this is what I remember...
It was basically MKT with graphical updates and extras. The character select screen looked like one of those fakes everyone enjoys making, there were so many characters. They'd hired new actors for the blue-screen process.
The fatality animation was completely reworked. MUCH more realistic, never any more than one skull, two arms, and two legs, for explosions.
All teh MKDA stages were in, MK3 form. Nethership looked GREAT.
Quan Chi was an added character. He had all his moves from MK4, the leg rip fatality, and a fatality where he opened a portal to the netherrealm and kicked you through. For his friendship, he shined his own head, and gave a thumbs-up. I think he turned into a giant ape for his animality.
Reiko was available. Same as MK4, and his ending said that he was Kahn's bodyguard or something.
Tanya and Fujin were in, too. Same as MK4.
Mavado was present, and he looked great. His moves translated well into the MK3 system, and he had a fatality where he ripped your stomach open with his spiked shoes. He had no hookswords.
Shao Kahn was different. He was unmasked, looked liek the old MKII artwork (pointy things on his head) and played like a regular character.
UMK3 Sub-Zero was wearing a black mask over his head, so we still don't know who he was.
Human Smoke had his own moves, like a smokescreen shield, and a smoke blast. He was kickass.
The Dragon King was the last boss, animated like Goro and Kintaro. Goro was updated with a better model.
In addition to Kung Lao, Raiden, Kano and Jax, every character had ther costumes from previous games, except for the MK3-MK4 characters. Mavado had his ninja costume as an alternate.
Unselectable: Kitana, Jade, Mileena, Reptile, Rain: For some reason, the DK had the ladies captured and locked in jail cells in a new stage. Weirdness. Reptile was the DK (last boss), and Rain was half-buried, feet up, in the graveyard. I think that's the part I liked best.
I'm going to go and drink a lot of coffee now.

I had a very very similar dream not too long ago, it was a 3Dish game, and you fought in an environment similar to Quake/Unreal Tournament, with the style similar that of UMK3. It's funny how your mind can put everything together in a dream and just make it work. The dream was over a week ago, it's kind of fuzzy now.

Odd. I had a wierd dream too about MKT2. There were numerous fighters, even brand new ones never seen before. New stages, and old stages too. Perhaps this may be coensidental, or perhaps it is not. The next day after my dream I sat down, and typed out a FAQ on every fighter from MK1-MKT1, on every move, and thing they would have. It would be a huge game. It would be odd, but cool to see three Johnny Cages, or four Sub-Zeroes. What a huge game it would make.
