So I was in the city doing some work for my school, when I happened upon the local Arcade. As you know I like Mortal Kombat! So they had a Mortal Kombat 1 Arcade Machine at the place. Now I have never had a chance to play the real MK1 in the arcade. Call me a Fire, but I was Stoked! So I decided to play it. . .like there was much decision, its Mortal Kombat for goodness sake! After about an hour of play I throw down Goro on a second try. So now here I am, face to face with Shang Tsung (the boss of the game) When this tall but scrawny black dude comes up and presses the second player button. So now I have to fight him. If I lose the fight with him then I lose the whole game, however if I win then I can continue on to the final boss and beat the arcade game. So I’m freaking out, my hands are shaking a bit. Now I have been playing Mortal Kombat since 1992. Thank goodness for it too, because I kicked this guys ass in the game. With my newly concord foe watching me, I go on to face Shang Tsung for a second time. I demolished the Demon Wizard and show him the true wrath of Scorpion (the character I was playing as). I gladly watch the ending credits then turn to my rival gamer and ask him if he wants to try again. He looks at me like I’m crazy and politely decline with a laugh as to say. . . “you’re too good for me, man”. That was nice!!!

I was 3 years old and found the mk game still in the snes.i turned it on and immediatly liked the combat and violence.I was amazed at what i saw.The first person i ever used was kano.He was my favorite at first. My brother walked in and right away turned it off.I know right from wrong, and i didnt do anything i saw on mk,except for shadow kicking my brother in the balls.I would always want to play, id whine and bitch till i got it.I got better and better and when i was six i got my hands on MK 2( this one is still my favorite to this day)It had blood which was amazing to me and the first person i used on that was Kung Lao.I immedeatly fell in love with that character. He was so good.We had grass in the back yard that looked like spikes from the pit so id fall into them. Also in my second house, my basement looked like The Armory.

When MK 1 came out, I was younger early teen played it, got hooked. Started following the storyline which is badass and then when MK2 came out I was like WOW...MK fucking owns!

Been playing every MK competitively, online now with the newer ones and UMK3 especially ever since.

I also am the most obsessed MK fanatic you'll ever meet, I even got an MK tat, make my own sculptures, collect MK media, all the games, movies etc, etc.

Can't wait for MK8 to come out, going to own hehe.grin

I was like 11 years, just a little kid. Went to the arcade every now and then.

Saw a big crowd standing at just one arcade, I was like what is that. Could barely see the game, because all the big dudes were playing it and standing around it. But when I caught that first glinch...menn..I never knew what love was..untill then :)

After that, went to the arcade just for MK, but mostly at times when it wasn't crowed...like said, I was just a little kid.

Was a dream when I saw MK laying in the gamestore...
Loved the story behind it, was truly dissapointed with the censured version on the SNES but then again...I was already in love hahaha

Then MK 2, came as a totally suprise, I was like ....this can't get better, better story, characters, etc.

And I was right..it didn't get much better after that, thats why I hope this time they do it right. Haven't bought MK;A, that says it all...but still I got nuff love.

I just hope MK8 will give me that same feeling when I first saw MK.

Damnn...sounds like a moviegrin

It was 3rd grade, so I was about 8 or 9 years old. My friend who actually played the game told me about it and introduced me to the story line. I was fascinated by it, but never actually saw the game until 4th grade about.
That was the time when MK3 came out. I was pretty obsessed with MK by that time. I asked for MK3 as my Xmas present... but my parents got me MK1 instead (they weren't educated when it came to videogames and figured the cheaper price of MK1 would be as good the newly expensive MK3).

I also got an SNES that Xmas... even though I only got MK1, I was happy as shit and had a blast with the game. I honestly didn't get upset over getting the older version because MK1 still kicked ass.
Eventually I got MK3, but never played MK2 until a little afterwards by renting it repeatedly. Of course MK2 was our favorite but we never were able to buy it (we were still relying on our parents for money at the time). We also started renting UMK3 once that was released.

Eventually we got MK2 and UMK3 after the rental store went out of business and sold all their games for a small price. The next game I would own was MK4 for PC. Then I got MKM:SZ for N64. After that came the bad ass MKDA. blah blah blah welcome to 2008.
