Yo Yo Yo Yo...Verse here, and I figured I might as well post this up and have you guys post up some stuff for Johnny Cage. He's my second best character I've always enjoyed playing him since MK1. I kinda use Cage as my "scrub handler" in tournaments and stuff. He's fresh and he plays a lot like Sub-Zero so it's easy for me to adjust.
I won't post up any strategies now for my Johnny Cage guide will be stuffed full of strats for those interested in learning him.If you have any questions ask now..for there will be a Frequently Asked Questions part of my guide and theres a good chance your question will be put there and answered.

Keep in mind that strategy threads out now here to show superiority or to make fun of lessers players. This thread is for learning and teaching..so no flames at all please unless it's neccessary.

Lastly, I hope more people show interest in making threads for their best character..maybe people will understand the game better.

Oh..and I did copy and paste a lot of this from my Sub-Zero thread post in case anyone was wondering...heh..peace.

What is the purpose in posting these 'strategies' (I quote strategies, because, I haven't seen one strategy you have posted on Sub-Zero or Johnny Cage) when there's a STRATEGY GUIDE for the game?

Maybe because the strategy guide is terrible and Ben Cureton and Paul Edwards(creators of the guide) both have no idea what they are talking about?

Besides, even if they did know what they were talking about(which they don't) that guide is terribly outdated. When it came out universal tracking, back dash cancels, infinites and some of the most power juggles weren't yet discovered.

Now instead of polluting the topic with these off topic questions and terrible grammar, ask questions about johnny cage so I can add them to the FAQ part of my..well..FAQ.

Oh, and to Ureiko. If your looking for strategies that I posted on these two characters, go check the high level gameplay board.

Cage is sure one of the best characters in MKDA, very fast and powerful. I would like to know though, what hand-to-hand style is his best? I actually find both very useful and powerful, so Ive got no preferences or see no differences.

Though Karate is really good I prefer Jeet Kune Do.

Cage is pretty simple. As soon as the guy gets in a certain range hit them with the move that corisponds with that and they're floored. For instance :

Full screen - basketteball throw (is it still a basketball?) this doesn't send them to the floor though.

closer range - Shadow kick

extremely close range - Double Cartwheel kick

if they throw a projectile do a shadow uppercut to dodge it and attack at the same time.

I don't know too much about strategy and I don't use Cage too often but I have gotten a few flawless victories with this strategy.
