Ok,. I've been chewing over this for a few days now, looking for hints, reading up on the portal, and whatnot.

Anyway, what I think is this:

- You must enter a button combination to access the portal. Maybe when it says "finish him/her" or during gameplay, I don't know.

- The portal gains you access to "the realms". Now, this could mean several things:
- Remember in MK3, you got transported to a "realm" where neither Shao Kahn or the elder gods had control, and you played Space Invaders?
- You can play an older version of MK (I think MK4 as it was said at Fight Night - The secret is in the coupons? - and in the Krypt there are some MK4 coupons)
- You travel to the netherealm to fight a fighter from there
- You travel to Earthrealm to fight a fighter there.

- Also, anyone notice a pattern in the position of the Gold Koffins? They are in a pattern that forms an asterisk (*), with PM being the central Koffin. I'll investigate this further and see what happens, although this may only be an oddity.

Also, can someone please put up the 'fights' that are used in Konquest to gain access to the portal? (ie To travel through the portal, you must fight your worst enemy, Sonya fought Mavado, Quan Chi fought himself, Shang vs Quan, etc.) I know there are more than those 3.

Have you noticed the dragon laying in the bottom of the water in the scetch?

The only thing that keeps me goin on the fact that there might be more is the Lung Hai temple card that says how the stage was changed to allow the sea beast access. So maybe there aren't pits, but how about some kind of stage fatalities? And what about the possibility of a button code to get a secret menu-that wouldn't be anything new for Mortal Kombat.

I think Boon already said the right hallway was supposed to lead to another menu, but was scrapped. I'm assuming the idea of another menu probably got scrapped, too.

There is not other menu in the game than what we already know.

Also, there is no possibility of any fatalities occuring with the backgrounds. They simply ran out of time.

Does anyone know what the numbers beside some of the concept characters are for? Just curious!

People have already tried defeating the game in a certain time frame. It just doesn't happen.

I'd say it's probably a button combination after it says "Finish him/her" on the portal stage in the Fatality Stance. But in all honesty, I think we're still clutching at straws here.

ok the lost tomb :ok why should be the portal stage more important than the lost tomb i mean there is more going on down there than on the portal stage .The DEADLY ALLIANCE is down there or did u see it on the portal stage?? I know that shang :) moved the whole army into his stinky palace but ... 1. the three statues that seem 2 bee something special cause the light is fallin on it. 2. in the intro of mkda it shows shang steeling one soul and stick ́in it back into the statue 3. shao kahn has been killed and now he ́s a part of the army he could be one of the statues but never mind ignore all this...furious

Good theory. But, we have more clues regarding the Portal than the Tomb. Also, we have no idea what happened to Shao Kahn, he's either dead or he's licking his wounds. I don't think that he would have ended up in the army.

and dont understand me wrong,im just trying to get that mystery cleared up... :)
all i say play a couple of times in the lost tomb just look at the level and maybe u will get interested just like u ́d on portal stagegrin

Has anyone tried to do a double flawless and fatality without leaving the triangle ring on the floor in the portal stage? Maybe, even just low kicks or something like that. Sounds hard but they have done that to us in the past! I've tried and have not been successful yet.

Shenlong, u dont seem to understand. We have more clues regarding the portal stage. It doesn't matter if the sarna ruins are more ''itnretesting'', okee?

And Bajar, I dont c y Kahn would be alive and not on the army.

After unlocking Blaze and Mokap the game states "you now have two paths before you. Use them wisely" or something like that. I am just trying to piece all these damn clues together. The game is trying to tell us something but what I haven't the foggiest idea, yet!! Maybe someone should post all the krypt/game clues together and see what might come out of this possible compiled information.

I am sure you all have played Sub Zero's Mythology. Remember having to play to get experience to do more moves? I wonder if this "Just Keep Playing" (Ed Boon)" and Time Will Lead You To Noob Saibot" (The Krypt) thing could be connected to an experience level or something. Maybe even some of the original moves for the characters really are in the game with a sort of experience in playing theme. I am just brain storming to get others to think and crack this damn code!
