MK4 plays similar to MK3, it's practically a 2D game, with 3D graphics, and weapons (Yeah you side step, but when you side step the other fighter side steps with you, so it's nothing like Tekken or Virtua Fighter)

I wouldn't be that harsh towards MK4, even though I do tend to regard it as arguably the poorest done in the '90-es period. Otherwise, yes, the first three games are the typical 'golden era classics' after which pretty much every other sequel was unappealingly glossy modernization with a good story (especially MKDA), but a robust and 'Tekken'-ish gameplay.

I thoroughly enjoyed MK4.
Although I will say Trilogy is easily my favorite of the Playstation Era.

Big fan of Trilogy. Alot of people complain that its broken. But I think that only counts if your some pro player because I've never had a problem with it. I dont know how to do those ridiculous combos that some people do. I would love to know how. Anyone know any good videos to look up? Alot of the ones on youtube seem to be some sort of hacked version of the game.

MK3 wasn't that bad. It basically was UMK3. UMK3 is definitely better for additions though.

I like trilogy back when n64 was in. on the other hand i thought the playstation version was kinda unrealistic and silly for me. For instance like when you perform a brutality there would be more bones littered on the ground then a person can have. little things like that kinda ruined it for me but i still play it about once a year for the memories.
Yea it is indeed the best MKA was good it was a little like trilogy but it was kinda spoiled by the newer more dumb characters like hsu hao sorry to his fans but I like the classics better.trilogy had my fav characters that Were missed out in mk3 like scorpion.but the actor who played him in mk2 also played Johnny cage an he got fired I think.MKt had John turk play all the ninjas sub zero, and Shang sung.but overall probably the best MK game ever.(in my opinion).
