Actually EVO would be around 8 or 9 in the series I believe. The tournament started out as the famed " B '5,6,7' " series which has always been the biggest Capcom tournament in the US since the early 90's.

The tournament is run by www.shoryuken.com. So if you want MKDA in next years tournament it would be best to go over to their forums and ask. Although I believe the answer you'd get is a resounding "NO" because of the forums(and owners or shoryuken) avid hatred of MK.

Good luck in your quest tho, I would love to see MK brought back to life via tournament form.

First off, how the hell is there going to be a nationally exposed DA tourny when peeps can't even get their shit together for a tourny in their hometown? Like with that P-Town tourny that was up a few days ago. I was the only person who posted up in that. I PM'ed the dude, but no response. Not even a response saying that there isn't going to be any tourny .

Fact is, no one really seams to care. SC is out and everyone is jocking that. VF is finally starting to get a little surge here in the states...not much, but a little. And 80% if the hardcore 2d comunitity will piss on MK at the drop of a hat. At leat that's the impression I've gotten the past years, please correct me if I'm wrong - because I really want to be.

In general, the entire fighting game community is kinda in a stand still right now. Nothing really that new, and what new has come out has been declared shit, even if it's not. Though, things should be picking up. T5 info should be leeking soon, and Sammy Vs. Capcom has been anounced. Soooo, I dont' see any big tournies ahead for DA.

If in the UK there were a tournament, pretty much anywhere, I would go. I wouldn't mind the travel, just to have some decent competition and a fun time.

Thing is of course, there is more chance of the moon, I dunno, going out on a date with Saturn than there is to be an MK tourney in England.

Menthol does have a point tho, although a rather harsh way of saying it. It's kinda of foolish to proclaim your the best player in the world when you have noone to compare yourself to and no worlwide (or nation-wide for that matter) MKDA tournament experience what-so-ever.

the MK6 online play feature wont be enough. some people will have lag while others will not and then some will have sooooooo much lag that they wont even want to play online so the online ability wont be good enough to hold tourneys on. besides, with online play i could play for my friend as well and beat some people for him and because its online no one would even know and thats not fair.

I'll be going to an MK tournament in Luxembourg in October. :p

Everyone can always throw a tournament themselves, can't they? It won't be as flashy but if you manage to gather enough people who know their stuff and get yourself some accomodation, why not? It's not impossible.

well the tourney in pdx portland will be happening in early october the date/details will becoming soon so it would be nice to see others who can play and not just some random scrubs hope to see you there for info on the tourney it's on the mk DA thread or on shoryuken under other games in the middle of the first page post so I can get an idea of who would come for a tourney for mk DA

Portland Oregon...a little far from your pad. I don't know what the hell is going on. I'll be home for like 10 days, then I have to go back to school. I'm not to worried if it goes down or not. Honestly, I'd rather take that one day for a DA tourny and spend it with my boys who I havn't seen in like four fucking months.
