Yeah I've been complaining about it since I first got it. I hate how you HAVE to save the default controls to your profile. Why can't they just automatically save to the system like EVERYTHING ELSE in the game. Call it being lazy, but I'd rather not spend an extra 10 seconds going to setup the controller only to reset it after I beat the game.
Another thing I hate is how every button is labeled to the specific system. Why not just use the universal system of 1, 2, 3, and 4 instead of x, y, a, b, etc etc etc? I got an X-Arcade today in the mail and kept pushing the wrong buttons for Test Your Might and Test Your Sight because of the console control labels. If it just said "1, 2, 3, 4" in Test Your Sight, I would of been like "aight. dat medallian b behind dat 3rd cup whut whut. oh it says i have to b pushing da 2 button to check behind it. zing!". But nooooo instead I have to pause the game, get the default controller sheet out from my X-Arcade manual for Xbox, and finally figure it out after a good 30 seconds.
This was a worthless, long over due rant provided by me. Thank you for reading.

LOL! It's cool, dude. I think it's up to the MK community to get the whole 1,2,3 etc. button layout thing as a standard going - damn, nice run on senctence, there.

BTW, what's up with all these X-arcade sticks poping up now? Is it some kind of fad? What ever happened to custome sticks?

On a side note. I was playing TR2 once and it was really late, I was really tired and I kept dying at this one jump/platformng spot on the last level. I would jump, fall to my death, load, repeat. Well, heh, I saved accidentally as I was falling - damn TR2 saving system tongue; who the hell puts load right next to save, and who the hell lets you save while in the air? So whenever I would load, Lara was all like "aaahhhhhh....crunch." Load, "aaahhhhhh....crunch." It sucked ass.

X-Arcade is a good stick. I owned one back in January and sold it. Plus I'm lazy and don't feel the need to cut a bunch of wires just to fit the system I'm using. I'll just buy the adaptors and future adaptors for future game systems. It's kind of sexy if you think about it.

It's easy to memorize the control layout. If you were experienced with the arcade stick thing you wouldn't have to pull out the manual. I can tell you what is 1, 2, 3 and 4 on my GC and not have to pull out my manual.

I suppose once I get the layout memorized I won't be complaining. But until then, you may aswell call me Bitching Brian.
Also I have no clue about which buttons are 1, 2, 3 and 4 *rolls eyes*. I know the universal system. I said I wished they made it like that in the game. The X-Arcade's button layout is all fugged up. Hence me needing the manual to check which button is A, B, X, Y, etc for test your sight.

1, 2, 3, 4 would have been better than displaying the letter, collor and shape of the buttons.. but you know... there are certain ppl out there with such a tiny brain that can't memorize which attack correspond to each button. I'm not sarcastic grin I'm talking about CHILDREN! yes, little children, for them is easier that way... wink but the 1, 2, 3, 4 would have been nice because it would have made it more "universal" you know then ppl in forums would talk to you about combos and such in therms of 1, 2, 3, 4 and not in x, y... if they had a gamecube or triangle.... if they had a PS2, and that thing happens from times to times...

Yeah well, kids shouldn't be playing the game furious. MK4/MKG used the universal system for the in game move list.

Or you could take pieces of paper and write down the letter or shape that corresponds to 1, 2, 3 and 4 and tape them on the X-Arcade stick somewhere.

I did that. Have them memorized now. But I'd like to believe the 2 minutes I spent pausing the game to look at button layout could have went to a nice cold, refreshing, coca cola.

I like the idea of having a profile to save your specific settings. I wish they would have fleshed it out more. For example, they could have included character usage data and the number of times you have completed arcade mode.

They did include seeing how many times you beat arcade mode. That's what globes mean. As for the save system, yes of course you should be able to save it to a profile. But you should be able to also save the button layout without a profile. Especially when there's no use for a profile anymore outside the 2 player game.

Where are these globes located? I have never noticed them before.
