I can't believe someone else has played Survival Arts. It sucks, but I got it years ago back when just owning an arcade was cool no matter how bad the actual game was.

Nice MKs Sub. Your MK1 looks in better condition than mine.

Thanks AnyAnka. Every now and then I have to go to the garage and dust em off and make sure they still work. I still play UMK regulary. You wouldn't happen to know a good website to order that red coping stuff that outlines the MK II cab would you? If you notice the right side on the control panel is missing it. Also you wouldn't happen to know how to replace a marquee light that is not working. I tried replacing the bulb but that didn't do it.

All this talk about arcades is making me want to look for another one. lol. Something Street Fighter this time lol. HOw about Capcom vs SNK 2 in a Midway Cabinet? Sounds good to me :)

The red strip thing is called T-Molding. It's cheap and easily available. There's frequently some on Ebay.

No idea about the light. If a new bulb didn't fix it there must be something wrong with the wiring or something.

There actually was a person on Ebay selling CvS2 in a midway style cabinet just recently. They wanted like 500 for it. I don't think it sold, so maybe they'll relist it. It looked really cool. I'd be interested in it if I had the money.

If I was going to get any more Capcom games it'd probably be 3rd Strike.

UMK3 was not released for PS1.
MK Gold was only released for Dreamcast.

I played Survival Arts at this hilarious place called Flo's All You Can Eat Spaghetti. They also had SF2 Rainbow Edition and Time Killers. It was a funny place.

I have to say I am jealous of your collection Anyanka. I hope to someday have an arcade full of great fighters (and some that suck but are funny).

Survival Arts is so goofy and stupid it's funny, and that's pretty much the only reason I don't convert it into something good. Plus it's a dedicated cabinet that's actually in really good shape and kinda looks cool. I'd hate to ruin the art and turn it into something else just for the fact that it'd be gone forever. If I ever saw a cheap 3rd Strike kit I'd be really tempted though.

It's crazy to think that Sammy made SA and went on to produce the Guilty Gear series. If Capcom vs. Sammy ever does come out it must have at least one Survival Arts character.

Sammy still is mainly a pachinko manufacturer I think so when I saw that it was a Sammy game it kind of made sense. The only reason they have good looking games now I think is because they invested the time and money in the Atomiswave system. It's a shame that I don't think that system has paid off really yet.

Do you have any cool Naomi games? Make Naomi GD-Rom games or something?

No, Naomi stuff is still too expensive. I'm not really interested enough to pay hundreds when they've all got good console ports.

Makes sense. I know I'd be jonesing for a 3 or 5 screen naomi setup, maybe the jumbo jet simulator or the ferarri one, but I can't even imagine the costs.

First step for me needs to be either a MAME arcade box home built or an inexpensive UMK3 machine once I have a place to put it.
