Okay, since the first post of this was told to move, and the latest one isn't doing well, at all, I decided to move it over here, since the incident questioned in the topic does happen in this game.

Okay. The Elder Gods are supposed to watch over Earth, right? They send the other gods down to help out with any 'minor' threats to the world, but it's their job to watch out for those threats, right? They are in charge, the grand high poobahs, and like any higher authority, they aren't supposed to be slacking off on the job.

So, when is Raiden going to go up to heaven and start kicking some Elder God ass for abandoning Earth to the Deadly Alliance (and somewhat because of their actions from past games)? I mean, sure, they couldn't help Earth during Shao Khan's invasion, and they were attacked by Shinnok during MK4, but they had NO excuse for not helping out in MK: DA. None. They knew the threat was there, they knew how great the danger was, and yet they did nothing. Raiden had to defy Heaven in order to help, so what does that tell you about how much those Elder Gods really care about our tiny blue sphere? And god only knows what they'll do when the Dragon King comes a'knocking, but that's only speculation.

The fact is, that although the Elder Gods have shown signs of apathy in past games (but they had an excuse! Don't forget that!!!), they had delivered the ultimatum in Deadly Alliance. They has abandoned Earth to whoever decides to make it their playtoy, and would go after any god in the Pantheon that doesn't do the same, like Raiden did. Frankly, after that little stunt, I wouldn't be surprised if, after he helps defeat the Dragon King, Raiden starts knocking some almighty heads together, but that's me.

What's your opinion? Should the Elder Gods be ousted by Raiden (or at least punished) for their complete and utter lack of caring for what happens to Earthrealm in this game?

*shrugs* I agree the Elder Gods are about the same as worthless. They create rules but do not enforce them, they let the balance of the realms fall to chaos with the 'its a mortal matter' excuse. But to be honest, if the Elder Gods leave Raiden alone he should just ignore them. Why waste the energy on them when he has more important things to deal with. Only next time someone tries to kill or take them over, let them fight their own battles for a change and tell them that its a Elder God matter.

Here are a couple theories on why the Elder Gods didn't help in MKDA:
1. Raiden says "nucular" instead of "nuclear," leading the Elders to confuse the real threat he speaks of with the fake threat Dubya speaks of.
2. The Elders are to the DA as politicians are to corporations: the DA fund the campaigns of the Elders, so the Elders turn a blind eye when the DA is fucking shit up.
