I'll start with some things I noticed, but please, list anything for ANY game you see. I know there are problems for the PS2 version of Primal Rage so PLEASE list those if you know them. I think that if we compile a huge list we may get some kind of resolution. As foolish as I am, if they came out with an improved version, I'd buy it.
-announcer doesn't announce Kabal in player select in MK3
-disappearing shadows which can be annoying cuz it's a flicker thing (MK2/3)
-Start button interferes when it shouldn't in games like MK2 and MK3... they shoulda left the emulation menu to the select button and that's it. Things effected
--Random select (Pretty sure you could in MK2, but not in this one. MK3 they made it up+x which is a silly change and makes it arcade inperfect)
--Unable to fight Smoke in MK2 because of this!
-You can't save Smoke in MK3 after you unlock him.
-You can't save settings such as controller settings in any game, only scores.
-In MK2 the sound will randomly stop during a round.
-In MK2/3 the sound from a gameover screen will play during the attract mode.

Actually the Save Option does work for me fine. But here are a few other things about MK3 I noticed.
-The blood during Fatalities is always red. No matter if you are performing a finishing move on Sheeva, Cyrax, Smoke, or Sektor. The blood will be red besides their natural color.
-The Graveyard is actually the one from UMK3, and not MK3. In MK3 there was a man standing in the far back holding a light. In this one he isn't.
-Music plays during Fatalities in MK3
Those are some extras I've noticed. Midway has burried theirselves this time with the fans.

There is NO EXCUSE for this laziness. They had what, almost a full year to code the emulator to run these games. This is just a slap in the face to us hardcore MK fans.
Note to Midway : Read our posts, make 100% compatible emulators and re-release a Mortal Kombat Kollection that doesn't SUCK.

I COMPLETELY AGREE WITH YOU!
But the real villian at hand is Digital Eclipse, not Midway. However, it is indeed Midway's fault for pawning the first 3 MK games off to them. So yeah.. Midway should pull their shit together and make it up to us.
I will actually let Midway slide a bit on the MAT2 release, simply because it is a budget title, and MK2 and 3 are pretty damn close to the actual arcade versions. But there is absolutely no excuse that could cover the lie they told us about MK1 being ''Arcade Perfect'' on the Special Edition MK:D release. I mean, c'mon.. if ya gave it your best shot and it didn't turn out ''perfect'' as everyone wanted, that's ok. Many of us are adults and we can deal with certain things like that. But don't lie to us and tell us it's ''arcade perfect'' when any fool can tell there are serious sound and slowdown issues.

but if they do that then they will stop getting money from us buying what they claim to be perfect but isnt. midway is full of cheap bastards who dont give a shit about fans. How can you forget about smoke? we relized this in 2 days of its release and they forgot about it all through development!? and they knew they would make 10 extra bucks from everybody if they took mk out and put it on a seperate disk . midway likes getting money, but not working for it. i think it would be awsome if the mk franchise went to another company, cause midway fucking sucks.
The only other problem I saw other than the ones already mentioned is that MK3's music is muffled. This is best noticed on the character selection screen. This sucks ass because I LOVE the character selection screen music. There aren't too many problems with MK2 other than the flickering shadows so I'd say it's 99.8% arcade perfect. Took another 0.1 off due to the fact that you can't fight Smoke. MK3, on the other hand, is about 90%. Muffled music, music playing during the fatalities, the whole blood glitch, etc make it not worth playing. Besides, I think we'd all agree that it should have been UMK3 on the disc in the first place. Shang Tsung's morph's work just fine, no loading. Primal Rage seems perfect, but I need to play that some more before I say it is arcade perfect. Midway screwed us to hell, but MK2 and Primal Rage were the reasons why I bought MAT2. Both of those games were worth a lot more than they were back then and these are arcade conversions, not console ones. I don't too much care about the flickering shadows or the fact that you can't fight Smoke, so I'd say MK2 is right on. As long as they made MK2 as good as it should be (my favorite MK game in the classics), I'm straight. MK3 I don't too much care about since, for one, it should have been UMK3, and the other it doesn't interest me since I have MK Trilogy on PS1.

its kind of sad that mk3 for ps1 was closer to arcade perfect than this.
We can blame Digital Eclipse, but its ultimately Midway's QA people who give it the final green light.
You cant honestly tell me that they didnt notice these glaring flaws in what they call "perect" arcade ports. Unacceptable, diappointing, unbelieveable.

Well, I have sent an email out to Midway about this, and I suggest that everyone who is extremely annoyed about these issues do the same.
If enough people say something, maybe they'll do something about it. I sent my note to support@midway.com
They can shrug off one voice, but they cant shrug it off if they suddenly get 10-20 emails about the same issue.
If anyone gets a decent reply, please post it on this forum.

I don't think that's exactly correct.... it's the arcade ROM on the disc, just poorly emulated. The graveyard WOULD be the same as in MK3.. and UMK3 would probably use the SAME graveyard through both games since it was just a rom update

Well I called the customer service # today about the Smoke problem. She said she's heard about it from other people and heard the other customers and she's going to ask the development team about it. I think her name was Claire. I also told her that for only $20, if they rereleased a new version with improvements I WOULD buy it but she says they very rarely do that.
In the MK3 "rapsheet" or bio or history of whatever u wanna call it, it lists the people who played the UMK3 characters. Either a mistake (most likely) or a giveaway that UMK3 is hidden (unlikely).
It's like, CMON, these are people who work at Midway and even THEY didn't think of the things we did? The first thought I had with the start problem was the Smoke thing...sheesh

The blood was usually red for everyone during fatalities in the arcade, so they got that right.
And how do you summon this man? AFAIK he's never been seen by anybody but you, and he isn't standing there in the arcade version of MK3 or UMK3.

Have you tried all fatalities? Some of them still make characters bleed only red even in the arcade, like Cyrax's helicopter fatality, Sheeva and the bots still bleed red.
The Graveyard was unchanged from MK3 and UMK3, but the names and dates on the headstones change randomly everytime you play on the stage even between rounds, BOON, TOBIAS, FORDEN, VOGEL, GOSKIE, BERAN and MIKCIC. Check to see if that happens in it cause if it doesn't, man they really cut corners. As far as I know there is no guy in the background holding a light, there is just a light and shovel in the back sitting there. If you can show a pic of the guy I'd appreciate it.

MAT2 sucks and blows.
I don't have the game but I played it over a friend's. Mortal Kombat 2 (yeah baby, arcade again!!) is excellent but playing MK3 feels like you're playing the PSX version of Trilogy for some reason. Theres not much wrong with it, but I'd rather stick with Trilogy since it has more characters (despite the 2-minutes of loading time). It's basically the same shit as Trilogy, I doubt I heard fatality music. But I haven't played long enough to discover missing things. I don't even know fatalities in MK3 :p
Mortal Kombat II is awesome! It's just like the real arcades (in West side Manhattan), the music is high-quality and tuned down about 20-cents, unlike Mame with it's speeded hyper sounds.
As for the sounds, I didn't really pay attention because I was too busy observing the graphics and how smooth it plays.
Reading off of this topic, I'm warning myself not to purchase Midway's Arcade Treasure 2 until I hear good upcoming news.
And if Smoke is impossible to fight, to hell with MAT. I'll stick be with Mame.
While on topic, I haven't touched the MK that came with MK:D Limited Edition since the day I recieved it. I might sell it on eBay for $20,000.
I think the design team was jeleous that over 1million people now own Mame arcade-perfect versions of the Mortal Kombats, so they probably wanted to fuck with our heads making us think "Arcade-perfect is now coming to your consoles!!111".
Don't worry, I'm building my custom arcade soon with the true MK. :p

A list? Everything is wrong with MK3. List is too big. They need to re-release this thing if they want to salvage any of the oldschool fans that they've managed to piss off.

I noticed a couple bugs in MKII. When you do Fatalities that end with the big glob of blood spilling on the floor (like Reptiles head munch) when the glob hits the floor, there's nothing there. Speaking of floors, has anyone seen the floor literallsy scrolling at the end of the round even after both fighters are still? Happened to me after doing Reptiles Fatality... Oh, on the positive side of things: no loading when Shang Tsung morphs!

That was a glitch in th arcade. If you do Reptiles head eating fatality on the armory stage, the floor scrolls to the left.
