welcome to the P*SS AND MOAN about mat2 club!
aside from hardware issues ans such, haven't you figured out by now, ten years later, that midway could give a rats ass about your arcade perfect version you so desparetly want? only way is to go out and buy an mk machine. i did, and i got all 3 boards swappable. i still have mat2. haven't once complained. you should try it sometime. can't get anymore perfect than the actual arcade machine.

Riddict, you're the only person that supports this fuckin game. On top of that, you sit and bitch about everyone else that has LEGITIMATE COMPLAINTS about it. Do you think that I have nothing better to do that "Piss and Moan" about MAT2? No, there's plenty more that I could do. But just saying, "oh well, this is as close to arcade perfect as you're going to get", that's bullshit, and if you believe that, you aren't very intelligent. It's just like MK2KungBroken says, even if this is $20, it's 20 unearned dollars that Midway has scammed off of us schmucks.
And seriously, nice thread. By the way:
I forsee this shit getting closed pretty quick.

No one with an ounce of dignity would proudly say "I purchased MAT2 specifically for MK2 and MK3, do not care about a single other game on it, and am 100% satisfied with the outcome."
That's what we're talking about. Some of the other games are really cool, but the main selling point here is MK2 and MK3, and they are what I would consider to be "incomplete at best."

exactly the term that I was looking for, those games are 'incomplete'

What is everyone's problem with MK2? The only problem is flickering shadows and not being able to fight Smoke, oh boohoo. Any other mistake is barely noticable. I am perfectly happy with MK2, but MK3 is another story.

I don't have a problem with MK2. MK3 is horrible though.

Umm.. dude, some people can't afford to go out and drop large sums of money on an actual arcade unit for their home. Let alone an arcade cabinet + 3 boards.
And of course you haven't complained, you have 3 of the actual arcade boards at home. So why would you care if you just dropped twenty bones on something you already have and it were screwed up?
You're arguments have no meat to them.
Here's an idea: Try to think before you speak next time. That way there may be a greater chance of you actually coming across as a wiser and more intelligent person (or flamer).
my point is they dont care, they are not gonna make a new version just cause you bitch. its just an arcade compliation, aimed at nostalgic fans. hence the split of mk1 to mk d. sorry, dedicated fans, save your money, thats the only way i see you getting the real version at home. buy the board and a cab. or buy a home arcade, and the board. sorry truth hurts.

well, arcade version 1.4 and 2.1 are incomplete but everyone wants to get their hands on those. seems funny.

Because they have interesting differences that are not on any home version. Stuff like attacking the babies in 2.1 is entertaining. Sound glitches in MAT2 are not so cool.

They don't have to make a new version.
Also people want the old versions to see what they didn't have yet, not the full versions to see what they did wrong entirely.
Apples, and oranges.
Your words carry less merit than meat.

Yeah, it's a lot of fun to see what's missing.
When you've played these games so much you know them inside out like some of us have it becomes interesting to see what it was like before it was finished. I really like fighting the bosses on early versions. Like Kintaro is just a monster on 1.4.
I hope when MK4 is emulated someone can get the old revisions up. I never got a chance to play 1.0 and the road tour versions and that game went through a LOT of changes.

well there ya go, to nostalgic fans who aren't ripping the game and playing it on mame illegally, unless you own the pcb's as i do, will just pick up this title to remember the good ol days. not to nit pick. you say its fun to go back and see whats missing in 1.4 and 2.1. casual mk gamers just want to go back to the good ol days. so there ya go. and those people will accept flickering shadows over less fatalities and moves. i don't try to be "meaty" with my words. the way you all talk about meat is actually quite disturbing. you sick freaks. anyway, im not into this piss and moan shit. i'm just fuckin with you guys, while throwing in some facts here and there. cause this is pretty sad to be so uptight about a 20 dollar game. you guys have fun with your miserable lives.

Face it , we got screwed over by Midway
I could make a more perfect version of MK3 in a day
than the crap they gave us.
MK2 is good but mk3 is terrible.
I spit on MAT2 and everyone who made it should be shot!

However maybe we were screwed by Midway, but a lot of MK fans screw Midway as well.
I know a lot of people who play MKD and they didn't even bought the game... they play the game with a modded X-box for 100% free, same thing is true for MKDA and all the other MK games. I'm not saying its wrong, but when the fans do stuff like that, you have to expect that Midway will not give an additionnal effort to emulate MK1-2-3 knowing full well that all those games will go on the black internet market. The fans are trying to make as much profit as they can and Midway try to do the same thing.

You haven't thrown in any facts that make it ok to produce an inferioir product.
