Well, what a suprise. MAT2 gets shitty reviews from Gamespot. Imagine that. Other video game sites will surely follow suite. After buying the game, I can see why now.

Is it too much to ask? I mean, really. Cmon. I was looking forward to picking up MAT2 just as much as MKD. Then I'm reading reviews telling me how shitty the game is. It won't be long until the other websites start shooting it down too.
I'm so fuckin pissed. Especially because, deep down, I knew I would be buying a sub-par game.
Dammit!! You guys can read the reviews at Gamespot for yourselves. I don't have the energy to write this shit. The little energy I do have I'm going to use to drown myself in the toilet.
FUCK!!!!!

gamespot:
"An arcade game compilation lives and dies by its accuracy to the original games, and it's here where Midway Arcade Treasures isn't quite what it could have been. The Xbox version seems to be the best at keeping up, though on all platforms, Mortal Kombat II has flickery shadows and Mortal Kombat 3 has flickery shadows and muffled sound. In Mortal Kombat 3, music continues playing during and after a fatality, which just sounds sloppy, and more importantly, it isn't accurate to the arcade original. Wacko is missing some sounds. Also, there appears to be something weird going on in all three versions of Hard Drivin', because in a couple of instances our car freaked out, lifted into the air, spun around a few times, and then blew up. As you go down to the PlayStation 2 and GameCube, you'll notice some frame rate trouble here and there, even in the oldest game of the bunch, Wizard of Wor. Also, on the PS2, Hard Drivin' is significantly slower, Pit Fighter runs strangely faster than it should, and MK3's sound is even more muffled and irritatingly trebly. The GameCube versions of MKII and MK3 keep up reasonably well, but the GameCube's button configuration simply isn't well suited for either game. Additionally, Wizard of Wor on the GameCube plays all the wrong sound effects, and some games look slightly blocky when compared to the other two versions. While these all sound like nitpicky issues, this is a package of games for people who want the original games in their original state. And Midway Arcade Treasures 2 comes close, but it doesn't quite meet that goal.

Aaaarrrgh!! Everytime I read that review I immediately want to dropkick someone in the esophagus! I expect poor sound quality and screwing graphical glitches from 16 bit systems, not the nex-gen systems. And the fatality music playing on and on and on through, and after, the fatality????!!!! That's just fuckin sheer laziness!!!

something tells me that they didnt want to fix it (just like mortal kombat). i mean come on, these games are the reason for buying MAT 2 (as well as MAT 2's selling point)and the kollectors addition, and they couldnt even perfect them. I bet in another few years when mk is released for the new systems it will come with "pay 10 more dollars on the special addition MK7 and youll get ARCADE PERFECT VERSIONS OF MK 1-3...pay another ten and get UMK 3 AND MK4 as well", then they will "somehow" fuck that up as well. midway has become lazy, wanting money for half assed work. there is no reason why music should be played during the fatality in mk3, there is no reason there should be flickering shadows, and there is no reason for fucked up sounds or slowdowns because with the power of todays gaming consoles you should be able to pulll through A PERFECT PORT LIKE YOU SAID YOU WOULD. i might as well cancel my preorder and download all 3 games on MAME, because midway doesnt deserve my money for shoddy work.

I don't understand how they could release something imperfect. They never should have even tried if they weren't willing to do what it takes to get it right. They should have hired a MAME dev team to do it, it would have actually worked.

Midway blows. Nuff said.
Don't get mad just yet everyone. I am not sure if this is 100% accurate, but my local video game store told me the reason they didn't get MAT2 today is because it was being recalled due to huge bugs, and errors. Hopefully that is true, otherwise Midway is digging themselves one of the biggest holes with the fans on top finally burrying them in the hole. This is what happens with lazy game developers who don't take the time to make something perfect. Lots of things have been recalled at the last minute. Star Trek Generations 2 Disc was recalled the day it came out due to just the packaging. We will all know tomarrow if we all get our own copies. Let us keep our fingers crossed on this though.

Yeah, I ran to Gamestop and EB games today since the game was supposed to be out and, lo and behold, neither of them had it. Come to think of it, Walmart, Target, and Best Buy didn't either when I checked them too. Wow, as if I'm already not irritated enough because of the horseshit game, then it gets delayed. As far as fixing bugs, I wouldn't say that's why it's late. Delaying shipping one day isn't going to fix bugs and the guy 's at Gamestop and EB never mentioned anything about that being the reason for the delay if it was. When I asked them why they didn't have it, they said they didn't have a fucking clue, but that it was supposed to be in on their afternoon shipment. Hmmmm, what the hell is going on?
Game delays = Me wanting to end people's lives.

back in 96/97 when I heard about MK "trilogy" I thought it'd be MK1-3 as seperate games, unfortunately, it wasn't :(
MKT was a fun game but it just wasn't each seperate game,
then these come along and are all seperate so that's cool, but aren't arcade perfect...you can't even fight Smoke in MK2...
I'm not complaining TOO much since it's still pretty cool....
but I'm waiting for the Ultimate Mortal Kombat Kompilation to come out someday,
MK1,MK2,MK3,UMK3 and MK4

If they ever did make a kompilation, I think it would be worth it to go ahead and make an arcade quality MKT, since they'll have everything needed at their disposal, but they already do anyway...

And now I can see why the shitty reviews. I would have given it less than a 7.2 out of 10 if it were me. This game almost ruins MK3 for me. I already posted in another thread about all the faults. The list is long believe me. Thank god for MK2. It's the only saving grace.
Midway, you guys need to re-evalute you're priorities. Speed through the game making process, half-assing everything, only to make a quick buck or get your shit straight and actually make the fans happy. You remember your fans don't you? You know, the people that put you on the map. Oh, you don't? Well, you'd better start remembering quick because you'll be losing them at a high rate with the bullshit you guys just pulled.

I wouldn't necessarily say that peeps here aren't sweating it. There's plenty of pissed off people. Hell, one guy here already emailed Midway bitching about the game. Believe me, people are sweating it.

People should sweat it any time they pay money for being fooled.
Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, kick Midway in the face.
