A true fan would get the original MK for Mame or PC, despite the nice looking freeze-and-punch fatality (which's however, not half as good as the spine rippin one) the Snes version is lame as it can be, simply too far from enjoyable.

Like any Jr High student, I pretty much spent every friday night in the early 90's at the local mall arcade, mostly to play Street Fighter 2. I played MK1 a bit, but I really got hooked on MK2 when it came out, and the rest is history.........

I was my best during MK1-3. I devoted all my time to those games growing up and thought I was the bomb because I won local tournaments all the time. But once UMK3 hit, I was more of a casual player. I commited to basketball. Being a casual player sucks because you know you suck. You can't hide it. I couldn't stand the fact I'd go the arcade and lose against bums I used to destroy because I was doing other things in life. Bah. Anyway, MK1-3 I was good. I've just been casual since then. I haven't even played MKD yet and don't care if I ever do.

Almost the same happened to me but a game earlier. I did only win a couple of "legal" contests though, others were totally unofficial ones started and managed by a very small circle of friends.

I always sneaked out of my house with my cousin to play it on the Arcades (we were 5 years old I think) .

I loved it so much. The music the gore. And I found myself surprised to be focusing on the story so much. It was the thing I love the most.

Then one day THERE WAS NO MK1!!!!! It had been replace by a game called:

Mk2:

We were amazed. Although I missed Kano and Sonya .and I thought Shang Tsung looked incredibly stupid, I loved the game. The graphics were better, the fatalities were more amazing ..I was amazed.

The first Fatality I ever saw was Baraka’s Imaple. I also remembers seeing people fighting against Kintaro with so much enthusiasm. They always played with Shang Tsung and one knew is “blow up” and “kintaro” fatality.

Then we stopped sneaking because my cousin was ATTACKED by a DOG.

Years passed .and my first Mk game to ever own was:

Mk3 for PC:

This was my favorite of the 3. I still remember how amazed I was with the incredible fatalities and new characters. I loved the graphics! I had no idea this game existed till a friend gave it to me.

This instantly became my fave of the 3 Mks.

Then came MKU, it was better .but for some reason, I didn’t like as much. MKT I loved the most.

Mk4 I liked.

MKDA-MKD my favorite Mk games.

I would say it all started with Mk1 and I have never stopped. smile

I love mk.
