Whats so great about MAME?

Why do you think every version of MK on MAME is arcade perfect? MK 1 on MAME is the best in my opinion it has everything great graphics great sound but I think MK1 from the Kollector's Edition is a bit faster than MAME's version. MK2 has good graphics but the sound is horrible it gets scratchy sometimes. And UMK3 looks kind of choppy and the sound is like MK 2's mame version. Is there any way to fix the sound or something?sleep

It`s very easy... cause they are from arcade and if your sound isn`t good or the game is too slow... that means your computer is slow (sorry for the previous one. no coffe :D)wink

Anything less than a ghz and you'll have trouble running UMK3, MK3, and maybe even MK2 since MAME is not designed for specific computers. Had it been, the games would have no trouble running on much lower specs, but they just can't do that.

The scratchy sounds can be fixed by getting one of the newer MAMEmore's, as it doesn't use the same type of sound emulation.

Search and get whatever the newest Mamemore is, right now the version i use from time to time is 82u1, there are much newer ones out than that.

Yeah personally I've just been using MAME .64 because of Kaillera... sound ain't perfect but I usually just run Winamp in the background anyway. For any non-online gaming though I try and stick with the newest version of MAME32. Check www.mameworld.net; I'm not sure if they deal with MameMore at all but it's worth a look... it usually posts everything MAME-related and includes links for a number of different builds.
