Each time I think of an MK game, there's one thing that stands out about each of them. Such as,

MK1 (Genesis)- The eerie music of the Throne Room.
(SNES)- How Shang Tsung's head follows you in the Throne Room.
(Arcade)- Goro stomping in the background on the 3rd endurance

MK2 (Genesis)- Fergality
(SNES)- Smoke's head popping out from behind the trees in the forest
(Arcade)- Getting beat by Noob Saibot, and hearing "Feel the Power of....Toasty!"

MK3 (Genesis)- Cheating to play as Kahn and Motaro

UMK3 (Genesis)- Didn't play it much on Sega, but I remember taking it with me somewhere
(Arcade)- The ninjas on the screen again

MKT (PS1)- Playing as Kintaro the first time I played the game.
(N64)- Khameleon and the Star Bridge

MK4 (PS1)- Begging mom to buy it for me at Wal Mart, seeing the blue face level on the back cover, and fighting against Goro again.

MKG- Playing the crap out of it, till I broke the CD by accident, and it wasn't even my game.

MK3 - Figuring out every single move, and getting pissed off about how hard Motaro was.

I really only have MK3 memories.

MK1- Playing on SNES the first time (I played MK2 first) and asked myself, "Where is the blood?" (I was very young that time)
MK2- Seeing Jade and Smoke in the Living Forest and the fatalities. They were better than the third installments. ^_^
MK3/UMK3/MKT- Frustrated over how to beat Motaro. >:(
MK4- I was playing it in the arcade at age seven and I lost (the first fight) and got freaked out when Sonya (She was my first character to choose) fell into the spikes when it was too scary (The 3D graphics scared me)

One of my fondest was going to the arcade and playing MK2 which had just come out, getting to Kintaro, and beating him by high punching him in the corner (he'd just stand there and do nothing).

Loads of fun. :)

Great Topic, Here Are Mine:

I didn't the Arcade Versions of MK much, home versions was my high

MK1(Snes,Genesis): Playing for the first time on My cousins Snes(I had a genesis), I was blown away by the gore, I got it for christmas for my Sega that year.

Time to take for me to learn everything in MK1: 4 months

MK2(Genesis,Snes): Once again got to play it first on my cousins Snes, then get it for christmas for my Sega, then getting it for my 32X years later(and love it best of all), even more blown away by the gore, learning all of the characters moves and finishing moves, codes, fighting the hidden characters & playing as them(On Sega with A Game Genie) my cousins who played for hours kicking eachother's asses in the process, by this time, I was very obsess with MK

Time to take for me to learn everything in MK2: 6 months

MK3(Genesis,Snes): By this time, I was the only one in the family who was still getting MK games, I got MK3 for Christmas for my Sega(but rented for Snes) and was very excited about the game, finding codes, learning everything about it, but once I found everything, I got bored

Time to take for me to learn everything in MK3: 4 months

UMK3(Genesis,Snes): I love this game, I still own both my orginal Genesis & Snes copy of this game to this day(still play the Genesis version sometimes), the last MK game of the 16bit era, very sad moment, IMO even dough both version was missing alot of shit(especially Snes), both were pretty good, with the Genesis version going out with a bigger bang, I was mad at the fact that they took out Shao Kahn announcing, losing Sheeva, taken out Endurence Mode, losing Animalities, backgrounds, and putting Rain & Noob Saibot in with no finishing moves, I wish we had the technology now back then.

Time to take for me to learn everything in UMK3: 2 Days & Nights

MKT(N64): If I knew now back then, I would have got the PSX version, but got the N64 version because of more codes & bosses fatalities, PSX version(better version) had everything from the start, but really no secrets, I didn't like not having everything handed to me.

Time to take for me to learn everything in MKT: 1 Day

MK4(N64): When I saw the preview on the PSX version of MKM: Sub-Zero, I said to myself, "I have to get this game" I remember it was a hot day in 1998 when I got this game, I was excited and even reserve a copy because I knew it would sellout(and it did) at ToysRUs, when got it home, I already brought the strategy guide before the game release, when I got home I went to playing, I think the first character I pick was Raiden?, and Sonya was back better than ever, by this time my obsession of MK was dying down

Time to take for me to learn everything in MK4: 3 Hours

MKG: Have yet to play it, but planning to real soon

MKDA(Xbox): The last game I played was MK4 prior to MKDA, so it took awhile to get use to the new setup, but when I did, It was like I was playing for years, love it, Sonya was a super powerhouse in this game, in fact, She was the only character I could beat the game with on Ultimate Level.

Time to take for me to learn everything in MKDA: 5 Days
My fondest memories were hearing about all the rumors, and stuff. That was before everyone started fighting over stuff actually existing.

Nowadays we know better, but it's still nice to think back. It's almost romantic, in a way.
