Dude.... there is no demo.
You'd have to use torrents to get a game that old.

It's extremely annoying to get MKT working correctly on the PC, because it was made for the Windows 95 / 98 i think, and a patch of some sorts is needed to make it run on the current Windows XP / Vista.

Anyways, i've tried it, and the game would crash, right on the character select screen. I've tried many different ways, and no way it worked.

I finally got it working nice and perfect using the PSOne emulator.

Works fine on my Vista. Make sure you right click on the EXE, go to properties, and choose Windows 95/98 compatibility

NOTE: this is the PATCH, not the actual game.
