He is the other character when he is morphed, but he is only the other character for a few seconds, and turning into the other character and turning back to himself are huge windows for attack.

On top of that he doesnt have a good roundhouse, sweep, uppercut or really anything else. His autocombo is low damage and he is just in general very bad. He is definately bottom of the barrel in MK3/UMK3/MKT or UMK3T.

Professional players point to where he is on the screen when Shang is about to morph back, and then abuse the morph back vulnerability.
Edit: I kinda like his roundhouse and uppercut Mike. I use the RH to set up the ground eruption to Nightwolf combo, or something like that. Regardless of this, he's crap.

I say kung lao was a pretty strong character in mk2. I was good with him, anyway.

1.Liu Kang-My best character in ALL Mks. With the Low Fireball and Bicykle Kick addition,he's neraly unstoppable. + His uppercut is the best

2.Kitana-The best newcomer. Fan throws are great against Kintaro and Kahn. Best sweep

3.Mileena-The Roll and Sai Throw are exceptionally good

4.Jax-On par w/ Liu's uppercut. His special moves are awesome.

5.Kung Lao

6.Cage-The Shadow Kick was annoying(because they would ALWAYS uppercut you),but the Low Blow and ForceBall are good

7.Baraka

8.Raiden

9.Shang-Tsung

you all are under raiting Cage as much as i hate him, he has great combo ability against a "scrub" as you say. and can do lighting quick counters. im not a big mk2 player but this is what ive learned thus far. btw mileena is unstoppable.

I remember back in the day in the old strategy guide i had they had the tir thing going and i remember seeing Mileena, Jax and Shang as the top 3 strongest.

Mileena, speed is key, as konqrr said Scorpion is her only threat. But even then he can be over come.

Gamewise, Kahn and kintaro are the strongest because their attack power is up more than the regular fighters.

Shang Tsung is the strongest because he can be every one and himself so he can copunter anybody then find out there weakness and use it to his advantage

Shang Tsung...pro players know exactly when he will morph back and he will eat a powerful attack/combo. The way to play Shang is defensive until you get the upper hand, then complete offense with kara-jabs, sweeps and turn around kicks. Rarely morphing. He will always be better than Reptile by using simple fireball tactics.

You're right Dan, Kung Lao's uppercut is the best

I think Kitana and Jax are the strongest characters in MK2.

Mileena and Liu Kang are also, and Scorpion is useful too, but IMO Kitana and Jax are better.
