MK2KungBroken stated in another thread that MKDA's popularity was hurt because there was no arcade version. Do you guys agree or not? I think it is true, even though DA was a big hit, I still think it would have been tons of fun to play in the arcades.

Did you want an arcade version?

Your thoughts.....

I must disagree. Arcades here in the US are dead. If Midway would have released MK: DA in arcades it would have failed, because arcades just aren't popular anymore, I mean no one goes to them anymore. To me MK: DA did just fine on home consoles.

perhaps it would of. they could of updated it frequently to get rid of a lot of the bugs mkda had. but then again, they can do that now with the ps2 and xbox both having hdd's and downloadable updates.

it would have been better for the consumer if it came out on the arcades first cause then theyd know not to buy the crappy thing

Arcades are not dead, yes at one point they were almost dead because mfg. couldnt make a good or great game. But all that is changing their are great games out and coming out. ID is a great driving game the wait is long, Soul Calibur 2 still has a wait and tournys. Man the best one out their is target terror it has a lv.5 red lable rating puts area51 to shame. Tekken 5 looks kick ass. I could go on for days telling you what is coming out and great. But to the point at hand MKDA should have been in the arcades they could of tied it in with the home version and did some really cool shit. Now it would of done good in the arcade and made MKD kick all kinds of ass in the arcade. A good freind of My has told me he has talked to some high end people at MIDWAY Games and tells me they will return to the arcades when the time is right. whats games, I have no idea. but i hope they do we as operaters miss them..........

Well, I guess it depends on where you go, but most of the arcades I've seen are almost void of life, so I doubt MK:DA would've made any more money if it was in the arcades. Plus, a lot of interesting features wouldn't have been in the game, like koins, and the krypt.

It would have been great to have some competition in the arcades, but then many features would not be intact such as Konquest mode.
