My predictions for the mk characters

Sub-Zero (given)

Scorpion (given)

Kitana (probably the most popular female mk character, equivalent to Wonder Woman)

Jax (the token black guy)

Goro (classic mk boss)

Shang Tsung (classic mk boss, sorcerror-possess a real threaht to Superman)

Kung Lao (another classic, if he doesnt make it....it might be lui kang)

Johnny Cage(classic comic relief character-equivalent to Flash)

Sonya (another popular femal character)

Raiden(another iconic mk fighter)


I'm pretty confident with my predictions.

Wonder Woman I think we can count on. She's one of DC's big three. Catwoman's a maybe. I can see her getting in, but I wouldn't be surprised if she was left out.

I agree the others are unlikely.

Whoops, didn't mean to leave Wonder Woman in there, she's pretty much a given.

Only 2 bad guys? You might wanna reconsider your predictions...

The problem with that is that i's unbalanced. If I'm not mistaken, we should expect 5 MK heroes, 5 MK villians, 5 DC heroes, and 5 DC villains.


Also, There's no way in hell Jax will be in this game.

I think Doomsday will be a sub boss. None playable

Yeah, regarding kharacter choice, I don't think Sindel would fly (lol, I is made pun!). Not that I don't like her, but when it comes to definitive characters, I either think of:

A) Characters who were present in the peak of the series (MKII)

B) Characters who best represent their portion in MK history.

Since predominantly most of the characters are going to come from MK2 roster (not saying I want that, but let's be realistic), any other character will have to best represent his/her era to qualify as definitive. On top of that, the character has to have some amount of fanbase. For example, MK3 was very urban and industrial, so if they're going to take any character who is exclusive to that game, they'd probably pick Kabal or Cyrax.

Sindel, although she's super cool, probably represents the previous games better than installment she actually debuted in. A sorceress queen wouldn't look as fitting in a city slum as say a criminal (Kabal) or a cyborg... well, a cyborg would be pretty fucked as well, but at least it fits the modern sense MK3 was aiming for.

Going further, MK4 had a very stoic, mystic feel. If they wanted a "definitive" character from that era, they'd probably pick Fujin, especially since he was the only new character from that game who didn't drink balls.

Again, I love Sindel. I just don't think she's definitive.

My MK predictions:

- Scorpion (already in)

- Sub-Zero (already in)

- Raiden (a major character, I think he's a given too)

- Kitana (as said, probably MK's equivilent to Wonder Woman)

- Mileena (MK's pre-eminent femme fatale villainess)

- Reptile (lower level bad guy)

- Sonya Blade (MK's tough chick)

- Shang Tsung (defining villain)

- Liu Kang or Kung Lao (a pure hero character; I'd prefer Kung Lao & I think he's more distinctive, but I can see them using Liu Kang)

- Quan Chi or Shao Kahn (another defining villain)

I just have a feeling that Shao Kahn and Goro will be in the game...but not playable. I think they will be bosses for the MK side.

Maybe Doomsday and Lex as bosses on the DC side?

We're going with popular characters here.....2 villains is enough imo. DC's side will probably be filled with heroes as well.

Out of all of Superman's villains, the only one that stands out, is Lex Luthor...and he isnt a fighter....closest I can think of that is really popular is Darkseid and perhaps Bizarro.

Batman's villains are mainly crooks who use wit instead of fighting, so we won't see characters like Joker, Penguin, 2-face...etc...Bane and Rash Al Gul seem like good choices.

And honestly, the rest of the DC villains arnt that popular. E.g I can't name 5 Wonder Woman, Flash, or Green Lantern villains off my head.

What I'm saying is basically this, there will be more hero's than villains in this game, since we're limited with a maximum of 20 characters. Ed is going to choose characters that non-comic book readers can recognize quickly.

Youve got a very good point on how a lot of Batman villians are crooks who rob. They arnt fights they just wits. But I'd reaaally like to see Joker in they game. I still think theyll add him because of the new movie for 1 and because he's so popular. I'd also like to see Clayface in the game. He would be a beast.

plus, I bet there are hidden characters....so perhaps a total of 22 characters?

P.S I'm sure Jax is going to make it.

Dragon ball z, and Naruto don't count.

The Black Character = Green Latern? Jade? I just don't think Jax has a chance in hell to make it.

and what, Jade does? But they may go for the black green lantern. He seems to be more interesting.

Remember, only the Jon Stewart Green Lantern is black, my personal favorite, Hal Jordan, is white.

I don't think we will be seeing any fighters that debuted in MK4-MK:A based on none of them are as popular as the originals. That being said, I would like to share my list and theories on who I think will be in.

Playable MK:

-Raiden (Large fanbase, and was in all the games.)
-Liu Kang (He was the main hero for the majority of the games.)
-Kitana (Large fanbase.)
-Sonya Blade (Large fanbase, and another female would make sense.)
-Shang Tsung (Classic Boss, he is MK's Joker equivilant.)
-Kano (Large fanbase, classic character, a henchmen villain of sorts.)
-Johnny Cage (Classic and popular, has comedic relief.)
-Kung Lao (Classic, large fanbase.)

These 5 have a giant fanbase as well, but so do a lot of characters, so it depends on where they choose to draw the line.

I feel that they will bring back the non-playable boss characters, and who better than the toughest boss in MK history, Shao Kahn, and along side him, Goro. Both popular, and iconic.

From the Interview:

He (Ed) also confirmed to us that there won't be any new MK universe characters introduced, which means we can expect another eight characters from MK games gone by to supplement the core Sub Zero and Scorpion. We expect Liu Kang, Johnny Cage, Raiden and Sonya Blade to make an appearance. Beyond that, it's anyone's guess.

Hopefully these guys are right:

* Liu Kang (main Mk hero),
* Johnny Cage (comic relif classic hero),
* Rayden (iconic star) and
* Sonya (iconic female, the Wonder Woman of DC) are all musts.

Along side Scorpion and Sub-Zero, they are among the most iconic.

Hopefully we also get plenty of the cool classics like Shao Kahn, Shang Tsung, Reptile, Mileena, etc.

As for DC, I'm just hoping for Posion Ivy. I have got to check what other characters are there, I might be in love with some and I dont know it.

I don't think all those people will make it. They would have everyone from MK1, and honestly that would be silly.

People also seem to be leaving out the Deadly Alliance and Deception characters.

I think that it may be quite unrealistic to think that Liu Kang is going to be in this game. The MK team knows that most people hate Liu Kang, that's why they killed him off in DA.

When it comes to the DC characters, i'm really not sure.
