Okay now some of this may be a little off base but I think they would make interesting twists for MK:D. I welcome your input on these ideas both good and bad. Well anyways here goes nothing.
First off I took notice of the fact that Mavado has not been slated for a return in MK:D but Kabal has. Now wouldn't it be interesting if Kabal and Mavado turned out to be one in the same. Yes I know the hooksowrds and hatred of Kano are easy to dismiss and Kabal does have the resporater mask but consider who Mavado was dealing with not to mention the heart implant thing Hsu Hao had. I mean yes it is indeed farfetched but still a possibility if it is twisted right and personally I think it would be interesting and a perfect fit of the games nem.
Secondly, and this is a big one, what if the Dragon King is Liu Kang, Goro or both. I mean if you notice the Dragon King was not awakened until after the death of them both and with the Soulnado going it is possible one or both of them escaped and was somehow merged with the mythical figure thus turning what seemed to be a warrior(s) who were fighting for good into a supreme evil.
Thirdly, I know this idea has been beat to death but would still turn out to be interesting if done properly. What is Reiko was indeed Shao Kahn and he as Reiko joined with the forces of Earth Realm to defeat the Dragon King so that no on and nothing could stand in his way as numero uno top cheif baddy. The beauty of this is it would give the Reiko character more depth as well as setting the stage for MK7 with Shao Kahn as the overlord bad ass once again.
Fourth, just what did happen to Shinnok. It was my understanding that gods are immortal unless they bend rules ala Raiden. So wouldn't it make sense if Shinnok is still alive. I mean that would explain Noob Siabot's involment in MK:D.
Fith, Ermac always has been a creature of mystery but what if his motives are a little more clear cut then we thought. What if Ermac were to fight on the side of the Dragon King, because Shao Kahn(Reiko) were fighting for the side of Earth. Perhaps this could happen because Ermac was the merger of three souls who parished during the invasion of Earth Realm way back in MK 3. So maybe Ermac can not be seperated back into the individual souls, and those souls can not find salvation until Ermac has defeated Shao Kahn(Reiko). And if this is the case what will MK's other resident tourtured soul ninja, Scorpion have to say about it. will he aid him? Will he try to stop him? will it turn out there maybe there is a tie binding these two? Are they true counterparts of one another with Scorpion representing Earth and Ermac representing Outworld. If so will their's be a fight to the "death" or will a mutual respect be reached and the two become colleages and maybe even partners. And who is to say that they are not both unwittingly serveing a man who may very well have a hand in both their creations the Netherealm's resident sorcerrer Quan Chi?
Well anyways those are a few ideas I had. Be they good or bad I leave that to you. However I look forward to seeing what you all think of them. I appreciate all of you who take the time to read this and those who take the time to respond I thank you all twice as much. So until the next time.........

for the millionth time reiko is not shao kahn boon already said this on one of the chats, i personally liked him, but after they put him in the game, they hated him, and the DK is not lui or goro, i am almost certain it was confirmed it was reptile as he de-evolved....still atleast you are thinking about possible stories/ideas, and all that is welcomed...even though some parts are redundant, this is what makes MK as it is, people like you and everyone else putting their ideas together, where do you think most of our MKD characters came from....US!!! Boon and co, really listen to us and give us what we want, it may take time, but we do get it. O well i rambled for a little bit there later

Very long post.Good ideas though.
Almost all of those ideas will never happen in Deception due to story reasons.
First, Kabal can't be Mavado because Kabal can't breathe without his respirator and Kabal's face was mangled up by an Extermination Squad. Plus, there were no signs of any type of implant on Mavado which shows that Mavado is not Kabal.
Secondly, neither Liu Kang or Goro could be the Dragon King. Liu Kang's sould was trapped in the Soulnado but the Soulnado was in Shang Tsung's Palace. The Dragon King's egg was in the Lava Shrine which was located very far away from Shang Tsung's Palace. Goro was killed in battle, and it is unknown where his soul went in his death.
Third, Reiko is not Shao Kahn and would not pose as him. Like stated before it was confirmed in an interview with the Mortal Kombat development team that Reiko is not Shao Kahn. Reiko was an undeveloped character that filled in for Noob Saibot in Mortal Kombat 4. The reason they made Reiko's ending in Mortal Kombat 4 like that was to leave some sort of mystery about that character. If you noticed in the Nintendo 64 version of Mortal Kombat 4 they left the part out where Reiko put on Shao Kahn's helmet.
Fourth, which was the only one I could see possible was that mabey Shinnok could return. In Mortal Kombat 4 when you defeat Shinnok he returns the Netherealm yet again. Noob Saibot had been a loyal servent to Shinnok for such a long time and I believe that Noob Saibot's purpose in this game could be tied in with Shinnok.
And last, I like this idea but I believe that Ermac will be tied into Kenshi's storyline in Deception. Kenshi had freed Ermac from Shao Kahn's control in the Outworld before he became a free agent in the Special Forces. I think as a repayment Ermac will help Kenshi enact his revenge on Shang Tsung and perhaps Mavado too.

Umm, yeah..loki, your ideas, kinda sucked. MK247 do you happen to know if these chats are archived somewhere? Its nice to finally know for sure that reiko isn't shao kahn. Hmm as for shinnok. When you beat MK4 it seems as though you jsut banish him back to the netherealm. But there is also a chance that quan chi destroyed him using the amulet once he saw that he was loosing. But he would only do that prolly once he knew he was winning. Noob was working for kahn when he killed goro. I think they should have had noob in mk4 instead of reiko. They could have introduced him later.

I loved the idea with Kabal and Mavado. This is Mortal Kombat, when have you ever seen Kabal using the mask to breathe? That is just his story, that it is supposedly the only thing keeping him alive. It could have been an invention by Mavado to turn himself into a super assassain. He wears a horrible mask which legend say is his face, and puts the respirator over it, all for the sole access to his Scary Face Fatality.
BTW everyone, he said that he knows it has been dismissed, but it could be interesting if played out right in regards to Reiko's story. I don't like the idea, but it could be good if it happened.

im not sure if they are archieved, i would probably say no, i just want to get the point across that reiko is not shao kahn, because these threads with him being in the game as a decoy or whatever is kinda redundant if you ask me
