For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? - Romans 8:24
i'm more dissapointed by Cage forfait than Goro's one,but i miss them both.
my ideal roster is:the ten originals from MK1+Kitana.

MK9?
I still hope there are chances of him appearing as a sub-boss or at least in one of the story sequences.
probbly not the sub boss will probbly be kahn if ur an mk charcter or darkseid if ur dc

MK9?
goro would fit perfectly in the game due to the klose kombat thing, and it would be funnier use the klose kombat feature with a four armed guy!

well the game has about 90% of ur dream roster then so thats not 2 bad

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."
He might be in the storyline but not playable or just be DLC. That or he's an unplayable sub-boss, either one.
That is actually Jack Burton's guess as well...
Yeah, Cage should be in the game, too...let's hope for some good DLC on the off-chance guys like Kung Lao, Cage, Reptile, Lobo, etc. are made available.

Between cheesy mini-modes like close kombat and the falling fighting, you can sort of imagine how a four-armed character would require extra effort even in the fundamentals. I suppose we're used to clunky cop-outs that just make those options unavaiable against a boss character, but I guess complete omission isn't a shock in this case.
I'd still like to think we could see Goro in some kind of substantial capacity, maybe through the story mode. It's hard to conceive an 'iconic' list without at least one four-armed fighter.
Here's hoping a "leaked" achievement list that "prompted" an official reveal is about as reliable as you'd think...

I remember when I was a kid and wasn't allowed to play mortal kombat.
the only character i knew was goro

I'm pretty sure early on I was casting aspersions about the MK team's willingness to build a four-armed model. I'd like to think there's still some chance we might see sub-bosses, but I'm starting to wonder if seemingly unfair assumptions don't hold water.

Jack Burton thinks Mick-Lucifer hits on a good point...
A four-armed character would most likely need extra effort to work right in the game, especially in the areas of close kombat and freefall kombat. If he did make an appearance as some sort of boss character, I guess I'd be partially satisfied if kombat options like these weren't performable against a Shokan like Goro, but like Mick-Lucifer stated, that would be a "cop-out."
Hell, wouldn't it be an exciting experience to be in freefall kombat against someone the likes of Goro? If you don't get the upper hand on him as you're falling, you can expect his massive form to land right on top of you and stuff, and that thought alone would make me want to fight all the harder to ensure I wasn't severely hurt. And close kombat against him would really be interesting, too. If he were to apply it to you, I think it'd be interesting if he grabbed you and lifted you with his bottom arms to try to pummel you with the top two. However, to make it a bit more fair, your arms should be free to nail him in the face to release you. If applied to him, I think it'd be cool if his counter attack to break the close kombat were to send you flying some distance across the arena.
Just some thoughts, here. I think when it comes to facing someone like Goro or Kintaro, it's all about the excitement factor, that feeling of "Oh, shit, he's got four arms and is so much bigger than me," or that surprise of "Oh my God, he just depleted half my health bar with that move!" Those emotions are what drive me to be as good as I can be when I'm facing them with my favorites like Raiden, Kung Lao, or Liu Kang. I think if Goro or another four-armed character is put into the game somehow, then those kombat elements should be possible. Without them, where's the excitement?
And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.

like my favorite vid game...DUH!
I think he should have because he has been in just about every other mk game!
He's been only in MK1, Trilogy, MK4, Deception for PsP, and Armageddon. (Excluding Shaolin Monks) that's 5,... not that much of an appearance. But, he's not iconic. To me of course. In my opinion, I don't think that Goro would have made sense being in this game. There was a reason why I said that, but now it just totally left my mind. Ahh, that's what South Park does to you.

You forgot MKD for Gamecube...

Goro, Reptile and Johnny Cage are far more iconic that Baraka.
