Son? No, id rather see Gorbak, or perhaps a new Shokan altogether... perhaps of a different breed, like Kintaro. Since Goro is half human dragon, and Kintaro is half human tiger, we need another animal hybrid... is not just bring a regular new Shokan. Perhaps one that resembles Belokk?

yeah i think its a good idea to have at least one shokan in mk:d have a good mix people from earthrealm outworld and other nation breeds or whatever lol

There's going to be a new Shokan, several reliable source here have said it. Is it going to be Goro's father? Who knows. Only time will tell.

I think moloch could be considered an ogre type. I wouldnt want another ogre as a sub boss.

I'm pleased that we'll be seeing a new Shokan in MK:DE but, and this is especially directed at the people who have inside information or contacts inside Midway, PLEASE let it not be king Gorbak.

Why not?

Well, ever since MK Gold, I found it a little unlogical that Kitana takes part in Mortal Kombat. Her presence in a tournament, or, if we don't consider everything from MK3 and onwards as actual tournaments, situations of man-to-man combat, is not only unnecessary but also ridiculously dangerous. Do Putin, Bush or Jacques Chiraq take part in the wars their countries fight? Would they enter tournaments? Slim chance, not even if they were martial artists or experienced warriors.

I think the same logic applies to Edenia. You have a whole realm there, basically another world, and they let Kitana, the second-in-command, the sole (!) heiress to the throne fight MK? And now, Sindel's back. I have nothing against Sindel, but storyline-wise, all this royalty doesn't really make sense.

That is, in short, the reason why I would strongly object to Gorbak being in MK:DE.

I thought we'd either see King Gorbak or Durak in this game. Both are cannon characters from what I understand, so they must have been brought into the series for a reason. Up until now they've really done nothing but sit in the shade (or fall down a bottomless pit in Durak's case). I wouldn't mind seeing another Sheeva-ish Shokan debut, taking Sheeva's place. She would probably be one of Gorbak, Durak or Goro's wives. Maybe a Shokan connected to Kintaro would be good, as that would allow the debuting Shokan to be evil, as Raiden killed Kintaro.

Why would shao kahn participate in mk2 and mk3 then? He is the outworld emperor. He could have his minions do his bidding. Same for shinnok in mk4. It's because theyre very powerful and can easily sway the tides of war. Not to mention technology takes a back seat in the MK universe in favor of magic. real life = no superpowers.
