Reiko isn't Shao Kahn. His ending was never carried out and he hasn't had a story since MK4/Gold.

Reiko is one of eight fighters locked in cells in MK Deception. We will surely find out more about him come October.

No one knows why Shao Kahns helmet fell on his head (it might not have been Kahns at all!) All we know is that the developers were running out of time and wanted to keep with the "mystery" of Reiko.

MK deception comes out on october 4. It is very similar to DA, although every fighter now has 2 fatalities each and a suicide fatality called "Hari Kiri". There are 24 fighters selectable at the main screen and a "torrent" of hidden fighters. See Murdolinks thread for the list of fighters (stickied at the top of the Deception forum.)

There are new Extras including Chess Kombat, Konquest (where you train a customisable fighter called Shujinko), Online Kombat (the first MK to become Online) as well as the the normal one player mode.

Search the news page for any new info, IGN and Gamespot have heaps of gameplay videos.

Cool thanx, I knew he wasn't Shao Khan but a commander/general to Shinnok's army ion's ago. I dunno his ending has always been too bizarre to understand.

Reiko was a character that replaced Noob Saibot on the character select screen. The development team thought that there was a lack of new characters so they took Noob Saibot's model and added some things on it and that is how Reiko was created.

Reiko's ending was very short, I think that since there was limited time to expand on MK4 due to the release date, the development team decided to stun us fans by making us believe he was Shao Kahn. It worked very well, however later on it was confirmed that Reiko is not Shao Kahn.

I wonder why Reiko has returned? What is his purpose in the prison stage? I hope these questions are answered when the game is released.
