I don't know about anyone else but I thought that the fact that only the face of the characters got messed up in DA was stupid. Considering how many attacks in that game did NOT target the face of the characters. In Deception I think they should make wounds, tears in clothing, etc. appear where the character is actually hit. You know like cuts on arms and legs, slashes across the abdomen. Like in the trailer remember when Mileena was sliced across her stomach by Baraka? Well for the rest of the fight she should have a big gash across her stomach. Just to make it a little more believable. It was stupid to only mark up the faces, I mean it was a good start but the rest of the body should sustain damage as well. What are your opinions on this?

its a good idea as long as your not thinking about like having the character limp if they got hit in a particular area or anything like that. That would take away the fun from the game if you can just take out someones knee and win the match just like that.

Oh no, I'm just talking about cuts and bruises and stuff. Not actual limb damage.

I agree. I'd like to see cuts and bruises. Although you can combine this with clothing damage as characters with clothing covering their arms could have it ripped and then you see a wound where the clothing ahs been torn. Hopefully both features will make it into the game.

Great ideas all of you. I would like to see the cuts ripped cloths as well. It would be cool if arm bands and stuff would fall off after alot of beating took place. And what about win streaks. Sure would be cool to win a fight against one of your friend and then, if you pick the same character the next round. They still had the body damage and cloths ripped from the last fight. Maybe more stuff could fall off round to round. It would take a long time to program something like that. Also they would have to show damage in different ways in there fatalities. That is alot of hard work.

I like this, the items falling off thing. (Can you imagine having to fight Mileena in all her ugly glory? LOL tongue) I'm not so sure about the damage being carried over to another fight though. This would make it real, but I don't think they would implement something like that. I think the characters will continue to start each new fight in perfect condition. sad

I like the idea of things falling off too. It'd be cool cutting off characters armour and clothing. Unmasking Mileena would be cool! New fights should start with the fighters in perfect condition. Any additional damage that they take throughout more fights would leave them dead!
I cant see why they wouldn't seeing as they promised this feature in DA as well as busted faces but all we got were busted faces..

So far we havn't seen any kind of ripped clothing or battle wounds.. this game has been in the making for a while now too..

Sad if not.

Yeah that's the reason it wouldn't work. Fresh fight = Fresh characters. Like I said this idea would be good for realism sake, but maybe there should be line as far as realism goes I mean it is a video game. grin

I agree, they really should include body cuts and bruises.

I remember when MKDA was announced, the said it would include ripped clothing and such. I think it's still written in their site. Anyway, they better do it for MK:D. Cuz I think it's unacceptable to lie like that (maybe they just didnt have time, but thats no excuse).

But IMO it shouldnt be anything too fancy, I dont want my character to end up all bloody and naked after a long and brutal fight lol...

I'm with ya on that; I wonder if they will still impale u with their weapons like in MKDA where u'r energy bar will drain throughout the round.

I didnt like the impale-then-bleed-to-death idea.

I mean, ny friend would just pull out his weapon @ the beginning, stab it through me, then kick me a few times then run around the level away from me until I bled out....

I think there should be a button(s) that you can press and you pull the sword out of yourself... Just a thought.

----------------------------------

Back on topic though, I think we do need to see some damage (tears, gashes, cuts, and such) like they said MKDA was going to have. I think in one of the screens, cant remember which, that one of the characters has a tear in his pants. I know someone made a thread about it... Hmm, I will look for it.

I agree with this. If not a button, then after a certain amount of time has elapsed your character automatically takes it out and throws it back at the other character or something. Because I have played against cheap people who impale and then play keep away myself. There should be a way to cut the impale short.

I think they should develop this far more than they have.
For the one player mode i think it would be a fantastic idea to carry on some of your battle wounds to the next round. You should carry on the odd black eye, maybe a bandaged leg.I think it give your fighter so much more character instead of looking nice and clean cut for the next round.Although im nOT saying these wounds, bruises etc should effect your fighters performance! No lower energy levels,no limps.

If you were to go on a massive winning streak [and without trying to sound gay] you would bond a bit more with your character, if he actually looked like he had just beaten eleven of the toughest fighters around. You also wouldnt want to lose because you know if you do, then your character will go back to looking refreshed when you pick him again...and it wont b the same. This would encourage you to go onto bigger winning streaks...so that when you finally beat the dragon king, its your figther standing over him, victorious, with his bloody face, bruised rib cage etc. Instead of a perfectly normal looking version of your fighter.

Also, i think they could incorperate this with the adventure mode character. Imagine if you get to your peak playing skills and you come up against some other guy on the net whose rated higher than you. You play your best game ever and it goes right to the wire but you come out ontop. You should have the scars to remember that fight[Like a huge scar along your chest from a close battle with baraka]. They should incorpeate an internal clock some how...so that bruises and black eyes etc, leave after a couple of days. But really nasty wounds turn into scars which stay with your character.
I believe you should only get scars etc if you win a fight against another guy on the net. This means that the guy who is rated number one will look the baddest out of every body. So that when you come up against him,you get a sense of intimidation knowing that he has beaten over a 1000 other players .These scars and wounds would be something to be proud of..ANd if you dont want them then maybe there should be an option to turn them off so ur character looks nice and pretty. But all the top fighters in the world have little scars and things they can boast about,so why cant the the top gamers?

The impales should be taken out imo. Impaling someone like that in real life would more than likely kill them instantly. If not straight away, I don't think they'd be getting back up to fight anymore. If it is left in then there should be a way to remove the weapon.

In fact, when the impale is done, the character should take it out straight away and throw the weapon on the ground. They can bleed for a little and maybe heal after a few seconds. Also, they would not constantly bleed but bleed only when the part of the body that was imapled is used or beaten. If impaled in the legs, kicking would cause them to lose health as they do additional damage and of constant movement would cause them to bleed. Bleeding would open the wound a little more and it would take longer to heal. This way, the opponent can't just back away and expect you to bleed to death as you won't this time.

Very very cool idea indeed. I like it alot.
I also didnt like the fact that the face only got marked up and not the whole body.
Id like to see cuts in skin and ripped clothing and they should keep the blood rolling down thiere body cuz that wuz a very cool touch.
And no limb damage. First of all that would be tooooo queer and too TaoFeng
