Rain looks rather similare to what I emailed Ed Boon what I thought he should look like. Not completly, but similare to my own idea.

I like their design better, but I do see some similarities.
Some things are almost exactly the same and others are totally different.
Things that are the same.
1 = The use of a lot of gold and chrome.
2 = The gold outline around the loin cloth
3 = The separation / weight at the bottom of the loin cloth.
4 = The gold line along the outer side of his pants
5 = the white ninja sox
6 = The gold bands around the ankles
7 = The pillowy texture on the loin cloth
8 = The cloths hanging on the side of his hips
9 = The outline around the mask
10 = His knives look similar to the sword I made. It has a gold handle and has that curved shape.
Who knows, maybe they saw it and got some ideas.

It could have just been a coincidence though.

I dunno dude, the MK team are a fishy bunch.
I dont wanna sound up myself or anything, but ive always had reasons to belive they take ideas from fans, and possibly me included. One fake I made of Ashrah vs Tanya had Ashra doing almost the same projectile that they later put into MKD. And in my fake of Baraka vs Kenshi the bodies hanging off the buildings in the Konquest Netherrealm were also included in the final version of konquest.... fishy indeed.

Ok, if anything I would be honored if I Midway took a few little cues from my artwork.Cues and ideas, not plagiarize.
Not saying biting off it per-se, that's a different story meaning taking the EXACT concept and putting it into a game that was originally done by a fan.Playgiarism is different as that's literally taking someone elses work exactly and claiming it as your own.
I don't think anything is fishy man, the two concepts look nothing alike.

No man, not at all.He's edenian.Originally Rain's concept WAS going to be a Lin Kuei member but the team ditched that idea and decided to change it.
I kind of wished they would have went with their original plan for him to be honest.

I like Rain's new look. It looks great. EDIT: I don't think he looks like the one in Bleed's concept. But I gotta say that his concept is really cool.

I like his look especially his mask part. At first I didn't like that they removed the hood, but I actually think it makes him stand out more from the ninja and it gives him more of an Edenian feel. I don't like the cape at all though. I hope his alternate is a more ninja-esque outfit though. I always thought that this outfit makes him look less agile and just about all ninjas are agile.

Stryker's alternate makes him look like Dennis The Menace wearing an Ultimate X-Men costume.

i duno who Bleed is but i thought his drawing is way better then mk:A's rain in my opinion. Mk:A's rain looks too much like a gay alladin tongue thats my 2 cents anyways

Yeah thanks for replying to my last message a couple of times. =P I remember in the old MK's Rain was like zub-zero, Etsept he was purple. And Now in armageddon He changed completely...Like I said, Why cant he atleast be a water theme? I mean..His name is rain right?

That's if say Sektor ever caught Rain programmed him to do his bidding.That's why you see tints of Red in Rain's costume. Just a concept man.My sculpting is much better then my drawing so lol.

Now that you mention it...Thanks for reminding me why I detest the purple-and-gold/purple-and-yellow color scheme (which I refer to as "piss-and-purple")...because I hate the Lakers (and I have my reasons). I hope Rain's got an alternate costume that does NOT have gold, yellow, or any similar color on it.

It's actually his primary costume.
And it's definately one of my all time favorite MK Costumes.

"Purple Rain" was a song (and a movie from 1984) sung by Prince (who also starred in the movie) and Mortal Kombat's Rain started out as a joke character in reference to that which is why he wears purple.

I hate the lakers too, but seeing how I live in Baltimore, Maryland, I love the Ravens and there team colors just so happen to be PURPLE AND YELLOW! They have one of the best uniforms in the NFL, especially their road uniforms! And its all because of Purple and Piss Gold.
