Gamesradar.com gave it a 85% which is what i think another review total was. So it looks like deception has a good average.

Not bad at all.
And speaking of averages, MKD has an excellent rating on GameRankings.com; a whopping 95%. Check it out for yourself here.

Well it seems to be PSM2's review. So we still only have 2 reviews. One 8.5 and one 9.5. Not too bad actually.

I just didn't quit like this part:
"It's a shame you've still got to discover (ie, read a magazine) and memorise button sequences to see the Fatalities."
"Fortunately the three incredible bonus modes should help alleviate the disappointment."

It's simply dumb to think it's more fun to press one button to do ALL fatalities; you feel really satisfied when you are able to memorize and execute a finishing move to your friend!
However, this part is simply satisfying to read to:
"This isn't just the biggest Mortal Kombat to date - it's the biggest fighting game, full stop. Topping this will take some doing."

Are you all seriously confused about who the top teams grunts are?? *sighs*
Take a look. Don't try too hard. It's painfully obvious that it's Nightwolf. Red vest, tight blue pants, boots, dark hair, he's even got the bands or straps or whatever you wanna call them around his upper arms. Just look at Nightworf at the bottom of the screen and compare. And if you don't see it then lets just say it's Onaga and forget it.

I concur! Also with the newly added suicide vs fatality mode memorizing will come into play!

The uppercut is in, it's just Gamesradar being Gamesradar by probably playing a game for no more than 5 minutes, then writing a review based on those 5 minutes, they do that sort of thing often.

Sounds good. I want to see how ign and gamespot review it. They are usually harsh on games so I want to see how it goes.

i think ign will give it a good review.. they did take time just to do 6 chambers of death. and all the fatality fridays and bios.

Just noticed something that might get my mind at ease about the Classic Backgrounds.

If I'm not mistaken, this is The Pit, and if I'm not mistaken again, the Chess matches are supposed to be only 1 Round and have some letters or indicators over the life bars. You can see that this match was 2 to 3 rounds long, so my guess it's that it was a regular arcade/versus match.
So it seems the classic backgrounds will indeed be playable in other modes besides Chess. I hope I'm not wrong.

It's not Darrius.
It's Nightwolf, look closer.

The once exclusive chess MK stage remakes are now playable in arcade mode as well.

Maybe the reason they say the "classic" uppercut isn't back is because they don't look exactly like an uppercut. I saw Baraka do a two-handed uppercut, so maybe everyone has there own take on an uppercut.

Just to confirm
This is the review I posted about by PSM2, and also reported that it was on gamesradar, why another thread was needed I don't know tongue
My guess on the uppercuts are what they actually meant was that it's based on Deadly Alliance's engine, not the classic games.
