Are you looking forward to deception? I mean not because eyebrowian said something you will totally change your mine about a game you have been looking forward to even since January. You have posted so many message, you didn't even take some bednight rests, you burned your fingers typing about how you love deception and one interview change your entire konquest. The gameplay is like deadly alliance so what,I still play deadly alliance, the gameplay was better than mk1/MK2/mk3 and mk4. Deception is released two years away from deadly alliance, did you expect someone to throw away a new fighting engine before upgrading it?

Maybe it's your business to decide your own destiny!

EXactly, DA's fighting engine was awesome. This one is the same, so it will be awesome too. I think with all the content in Deception, it's looking like the best game in the series and can maybe finally compete with how awesome Street Fighter is! Why the fuck is everybody complaining so much?! They just want something to bitch and complain about. most of them really liked DA and just complained because of small things. Deception is a big upgrade and I don't know why everybody is complaining about MORE things being put into the game. MORE is BETTER.

I never bought a MK game because of the fact that they never kept me interested long enough because they are just fighting, fun with a friend and all but don't always have the time. Now with Deception there is a Konquest mode which really sounds awesome! The chess kombat will also take some time and does look fun. The best part for me is online! I love online games and I'll love MKD.

Most people just complain because they're afraid to be flamed by some people here. I'm still playing deadly alliance and the only problem I have with it is,the gameplay is to slow.

I've been playing fighting games since the genre first existed (hell, even before if you count the little mini-fighting game in Double Dragon for the NES). I've played almost every game of almost every series. I've been playing Mortal Kombat since 1992 and I know something that a lot of people don't seem to grasp; the so-called deep MK gameplay that they're looking for a "return" to was never there in the first place. Mortal Kombat is probably one of the most mindlessly easy fighting games in the world. And it always has been. Now the development team is trying to actually put in features that will add a measure of strategy to it for probably the first time ever and people, naturally, are just shitting all over it. They call themselves the hardcore fans yet they seem to hate the game coming out in only 54 days.

Now take me. I've been looking forward to this game since it was announced, really since MKDA came out and I knew that a sequel was inevitable. Do you honestly think a bunch of whining people stuck in a fictional past they want to return to are going to influence my desire to play this game? It's only influenced me to stop trying to get them to realize that you cannot judge something before you play it, because they won't realize it.

I'm very much looking forward to Deception. And I know I won't be disappointed.

I've been looking forward to Deception since it was announced. I was dissapointed in the early Konquest mode but it seems to be shaping up pretty nicely. Time sure is slow though. *sigh*

Are you crazy?! MK:D will rock. I promise you that. It's better than MK:DA, which was better than every other Mortal Kombat game (except, maybe, MKII), so that easily makes it a contender. Fatality.

You just hit the nail right in the head. Some of these people humor me on a daily basis, they whine and cry about Deadly Alliance, how it has no depth and the gameplay is garbage, and how Deception will be the same, and then talk like Mortal Kombat 1-4 were fighting game Godsends with unmatched depth and gameplay.

MK1-4 WERE fighting game Godsends with unmatched gameplay and depth! They were unmatched because they weren't as good, but that's another story. Any MK game is a godsend (edit: never mind. MK Special Forces wasn't a godsend, it was a gift from hell.) Fatality.

I definitely am. I had no problem with the fighting engine except for it being a bit sluggish. With that fixed, better characters this time around and death traps, you bet I'm digging this new MK.

I cannot wait for this game!!! I just preorderd the Platinum Eddition for it today! I am still playin' Deadly Alliance untill it's release (or my MK4 comes in the mail).

Deception looks like it's gonna be a fantastic game!! My favorite Kharacter, Smoke, is returning. They're adding an adventure to the game that'll expand the story. They're adding new fun Modes of play, Chess/Puzzle Kombat, to keep you interested. 2 Fatalities!!!! I can't wait for this game and I am probaly going to completely swell up my hands playin' it. wow grin

I try to ignore the naysayers but it is hard sometimes. Yes I am so fucking excited about this game. I remember coming here every day back '01 for Deadly Alliance and I couln't wait then. For Deception it is worse. I think this game will knock the competition to the ground and I can't get to October soon enough.

I've always thought that the gameplay in Deadly Alliance was excellent. 3 different styles per fighting. Genius. I don't know why people bitch about gameplay. Sure it's a little slow now, but overall DA was a badass experience, and still is. That is why I've been playing it like mad trying to boost up my skills with certain returning characters. My only problem is that the game on Max is just too easy now. The only trouble I ever have is Reptile, who is just one lame son of a bitch. So I'm waiting for the upgrade. The faster fighting, the death traps, the new characters. I can't wait.

I'm very glad there are some who understand the original premise of Mortal Kombat, and the premise of other fighting games, and are able to tell the difference between them.

I agree with pretty much everything on this board. Bezou.. you are right.. ppl are juss complaining because they have nothin to complain about. I too.. have played a shit load of fighting games and have played every MK game.. and DA was spectacular for the franchise.. new gameplay, 3 fighting styles, deep storyline, and awesome looking characters, it was brilliant. I'm so obsessed with MK, that I stay lay in my bed and lose a couple hours of sleep at night talkin to myself about all the new games comin out(in this case Deception). I cannot wait for MK:Deception.. my favorite characters Smoke, Noob, and Ermac are returning, and I can't wait to kick somebody into a gruesome death trap.... MKDA rocked, and Deception will rule all..

It's because you made a good thread this time around. grin j/k dude, no hard feelings right?

I am so glad that I have company in the I Am Still Optimistic About Deception Group. It's funny. A day ago we were a member of a huge majority. Now we're a target. People flame us left and right for sticking up for Deception.

Bezou, I agree with practically everything you say. MK was never trying to be a great fighting game, it just wanted to be fun. And now that they are trying to add in some much needed gameplay depth, people like Wanderer ridicule it.

Deception will rock. Not to the people who want to look at the game and point out everything wrong with it, but us, the real fans. The people who would stand by MK no matter what. If they want to whine, let them, and we'll have the real fun.

If that's true, then they'd probably have better results petitioning Namco or Tecmo to put Fatalities into the next Tekken or DOA games because I don't think Mortal Kombat will ever have the kind of gameplay they're looking for.
