I was assuming that Baraka would fight without his blades and then pop them out when you would switch to the weapon mode, but since every single screenshot seems to show him with the blades I'm not sure how they will pull off another weapon for him. Maybe characters won't have any weapons and only the stage weapons will be able to be used...
Weapons have been conformed per character. Stage weapons can be knocked out of their hands when the fall or styles are switched. Baraka might have another weapon or the screen shots have all been in blade/weapon mode. who knows.

They will have their weapons. Baraka is probably in his weapon stance when the blades are out. your just assuming things as I am! It's going to be hard for him to punch someone with a 12 foot blade sticking out in front of his fist. He'll just impale them.
Oh I didn't remember reading that the weapon styles were confirmed... it's probable that we only see Baraka in his weapon stance then (at least I hope he doesn't always figh with those blades off)
I know Baraka is going to also fight with his blades retracted. There's a screenshot (although not very clear) of Baraka fighting Scorpion. The camera perspective of the shot is quite far from the fighters but you can still make out who they are and what they look like. Baraka's blades are retracted. I think all the screenshots that show Baraka's blades are his weapon stance.
