Best way to learn combos?

"Well, if it's a branch combo(meaning dial combo that ends with L being the switch style button that still hits) then that's the use of the combo.
What's not to make sense? "
"Spiked Blade..........1,1,3,CS"
And "dial combo" ? Whats that?
@Quest
Ahh.. parry cancel. Yeah, I'll be skippin that for along time. ;)
The combos are going well, I am able to make it through most of the arcade without dieing. :)

I see what you are asking. If you watched Check's videos he does what is called a Parry Cancel in the combos. Extremely hard to pull off and even harder to master as he did. Lol just don't worry about the parry cancel stuff. You don't need to press the block button at all when you are attacking.
How are you doing now?

Ohh he's referring to parry cancelling? Yeah..that's a high level tactic where you stop the frames of the parry or cancel I should say into a move.
I parry cancel sometimes with block, I don't use it with any moves or anything IMO it's too risky online.
You can also parry in mid combos on certain combos in the game, there's a thread on here somewhere listing all the combos that allow you to parry in between the combo, thus you can counter them and turn the tables.
They're high level tactics though so don't get pissed if you can't do it right away, it takes practice.

That's exactly how it was for me playing Deception. I had such a hard time on the XBOX that I just stopped playing.
Actually, here's something for the original poster to do... I wrote a Rain guide over a year ago, and while it's dated, I'm sure it'll help you out.
It can be found here.

I wish you would come to PS2 Version. I feel im a stronger player with a Sony Controller. I know it's about skill, but the controller's d-pad on xbox, ruins alot of my specials i attempt. For example, with X360's d-pad, when i try to do an Ermac lift2x i end up doing a wack punch, and then get parried. 1 Day though, i hope to play you on a PS3 or sumn, to show you, im a stronger player then what i portray on xbox.

The sony controller is the best IMO too because it's far better than NGC controller too. I think the Ps2 is the easiest for dial combos. You just dial the code and you're done, NGC you can't, you have to time it right and enter the sequence as it comes up, not just run right through it.
