Here's a thought - and it may have already been brought up, but i don't remember reading about it any time lately.
So apparently in the new screenshots, it is evident that there will be clothing / facial damage with the shot of Scorpion's mask being cracked making his skull face visible.
Now I'm wondering if body parts will be damaged or hurt.
For example:
Severely hurt Superman's arm and it becomes limp and unusable.
That would be kinda cool and a lot more realistic... although MK isn't really realistic ANYWAYS...
But still, I think that would be a cool feature.
Thoughts?

While an interesting feature, it'd make the game very unbalanced. I'd expect something like this in GTA, where if you got shot in the arm you couldn't use that arm or if you got shot in the leg you limped.
This idea is reminding me of an old MK rip off game "Bloodstorm." Where they have your whole arm being cut off and something called "Legless Victory." Now I know that this game won't steep down to this level, but this whole idea is just making me remember of that game... not like this is a bad idea of course, I'm just saying. It would be cool to have body parts be useless...
And then if a part comes useless, the damage you give out towards your opponent will be reduced... that's something to think about.

I agree.
It does sound interesting, but Im not sooo sure how good it would look and work gameplay wise.
It would probably be fun for that to happen ONLY when you are about to loose, like, when you are low in your health bar. But to balance things, they could give you more strenght in the blows delivered by the still not heavily damaged parts of your body.

Midway also did a similar idea years ago after MK when they made a game called Bio Freaks....
You could literally cut peoples limbs off or have limbs chopped off while fighting.

that's like tao feng. Except in tao feng when you got limb damage it didn't really do anything.
and tao feng sucked.
and tao feng sucked.

The difference is relevance is debatable; but presumably the wrestling games, which have been doing this for quite a few years now, have never implemented specific weakness because it so dramatically reduces movesets.
That kind of damage system definitely opens up a lot of opportunities in a game centered around martial arts, but to restrict movements like that seems like a lot of work for something that's essentially a glamorized hinderance...

Though the death traps we've seen so far are either crap, the same, or nothing new. I mean, I like uppercutting people in acid, but ehh.... it gets really boring and that catapult thing in MKA wasn't really what I call funny.
The fan from MK4 was the best... it at least had heads coming at you.

Bio freaks? Sounds interesting.

Yeah, some deathtraps/pit fatalities got a bit boring. But the new one in MKA, catapult, I loved it. Not necesarely super funny, but still awesome to do. I really loved that one.
The Grinder one from MKD was also supperb, the grinder in Shao Kahns arena was also fantastic. Hmm...I think the boring ones are the ones who look too much alike, like the fire pit in Kuatan palace, in the MKA huge grinder below, and acid pit...

It wasn't a first person fighter at all, I have it
But yeah, @ Ice and Queve, I enjoyed most MK pits. DT's or stage fatalities but will admit, I love more way more then others like MKD grinder as Queve mentioned was just AWESOME! and I loved MK2 acid lol. My friend still laughs hard at the "AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH" because it sounds so real but in a funny way.
Pit 3 btw and Pit 2 owned!
The fan in MK4 was cool, not the best one though IMO but very cool none the less.

I think the game should try and be like Tao Feng when it comes to that department. The ripped clothes and bruises was done excelent and I'm pretty sure Tao Feng was rated teen as well!
I like the idea of mutiliated limbs...but I don’t think it would work well in a game when the fun is to keep your limbs to fight. I say make it possible only when you are extremely low on health. Like my example above.
Yeah, those rocked, problem is, the most new ones got too “repetitive” in a way that didn’t make them feel that new, and kind of got boring. But I don’t complain about that, seeing how they do rock.
I remember first time I saw (well, the stupid computer did it to me) PIt 3....when I saw Sonya falling so low I was surprised, but even more and even sorry for the girl when I saw those awesome spinning blades.
It was brutal.
Lovely.

What it does is goes into different angles, but not really "1st person per-se" I think Midway did well with the concept, the thing was nobody played it...one of those "lost" games.

Well, to me some got repetitive but others I'll admit I loved lol like the Desert Stage one in MKD, the Sky Tower to me never gets old lol. Reminds me of the Pit 2 but with a much longer fall and obviously more gorey.
The MKD griinder as you brought up is another one I love to see countless times ha, ha.
The first time I saw the Pit 3, I was like Woahhh....didn't expect that when the comp also did the same to me the very first time I played MK3 in the arcades. I also remember the first time I saw the Pit 2 was at the time I was very young and when it first came out, I was eating lunch and got so disgusted after seeing Kung Lao's hat slice and Raiden's explosion Fatalities that I couldn't eat lol. It was the first time I saw those at the time when I played MK2 early on.
