I'm actually glad about that. I must admit, I'm pretty suckage at 2D mk's when it came to combos. MKDA till now, has always been up to my standards as far as button commands went.
Because in the last MK games all you had to do was to memorize a button sequence and you'd be able to perform a limited amount of combos.
They were one of the worst fighters IMO, because you didn't have the freedom to do anything outside the combo list.

It seems rather strange he would even make that comment though considering 3D movement is on a completely separate stick (the thumbstick) so you can now use straight up jump and ducking. That alone to me would make it a considerable difference in controls. If he was talking about the placement of buttons perhaps I could see the similarities.

Yeah I love the old games n all the only thing I ever hated was how CPU opponents could predict your next move n all that pissed me off but I liked playing against real people and all. n I think ill be fine with the controls being MK:A

The lay out of the controls is like the later games.
4 attack buttons with different animations for everybody.
Throw button
Block button
How they work is different because you have custom combos now, similar to MK4.
You move in 3D with the joy stick and 2D style with the D.pad. I don't like this idea at all. I found it annoying in Tao Feng, it felt disjointed.
I almost never use the straight up jump or just hold down to crouch. I use diagonal jumps or hold Down+BLK to duck.

so true.
the last MK games are incredibly boring after a while...especially Armageddon. Everyone had the same feel to them. The new games were all about memorizing chains and breaking blocks; and there's no speed to them. You can go into an MKDA, MKD or MKA match knowing exactly what you want to do and end up doing it and winning the match. While in the other MK's you had to be able to constantly adapt and think on your feet - it actually took hand eye coordination to win a match unlike the recent MK's.
anything with this MK that has to do with Armageddon is a bad thing

For those of you that watched the video at this link did anyone else notice at about the 8:15 or 8:16 mark on the video if you look right behind the T and the exclamation point when it says FIGHT! there seems to be what looks like a female ninja character that looks like either Kitana or Mileena leaning against the spike/bone thing that is coming up through the ground! Let me know if anyone else see's this or if I'm just seeing things, which is possible since I'm still awake at 6a.m....lol.

Yea I thought I was losing my mind too but now I just looked at it again and I still think it looks like Kitana or Mileena. Maybe it's just a skeleton or something but it is definitely something that looks like a body/skeleton.
