Cage and Sonya...

As fighters, their both pretty decent, but when it comes down to story they have NO place in MK.

Cage -- Fame hungry jackass with a record of the STUPIDEST endings in every game he curses with his presence.

Sonya -- Good fatals, good fighter, but doesn't really belong. She also has the same ending every time, same old Red Dragon crap. Unless they give her a decent story (maybe something from her past) they should retire her from MK.

I'm hoping that both Hsu Hao's and Jax's endings actually did happen. That would mean that Hsu Hao's nuclear wepon killed the Special Forces *cheers* leaving Jax stranded with nothing to do but kill Hsu Hao and remain to fight in Deception.

I'm also hoping that Cyrax is in the game. I mean, come on, you should never have Ketchup without Mustard. Hopefully Nitara decieved him and didn't send him home.

Questions, insults (damn Cage fans), comments?

Sonya always has and always will have a place in MK...period. Cage I could take or leave, but Sonya must remain.

I defintely think Cage should never return. one of the most overrated characters in my opinion.

Sonya is a good fighter and has good moves/fatalities. But the story lets her down. same old crap about the Black, and now, Red Dragon. I think she needs to take some time out from the game, as a fighter, but still be involved in the story, that way if she reenters as a fighter she might have a more interesting story.

I dissagree.

Have you seen the recent threads about these 2? Both are incredibly popular, both are powerful, both are a must in the games, etc.

They need a new storyline, but so do many other fan faves that have gotten stale and boring such as Scorpion.

Mortal Kombat is juts not Mortal Kombat with out the main originals, Sonya and Johnny Cage play a big role in the story and should/will remain in the series till the end.

Back in the day, they both were great fighters. Now, however, both belong in the garbage bin. Neither of their stories have developed that well, and its the same crap. Gotta destroy the Dragon clans. Gotta make a movie. It got really old.

There is seriously not enough of the originals in MKD. I would like to have both of them back for MKD but if I had to choose one it would definetly be Sonya.

I agree. Johnny cage is worthless, boring, and his endings are pretty much always the same stuff. I hope he never makes it into MK again.

As for Sonya, shes one of the originals, but if she was so important, then they wouldve put her in. Guess not, because it looks like jax is in now, how sad. Personally, i think Sonya's fatalities and such have always been boring, and i think shes a boring character overall. I wouldnt be dissapointed at all if she never came in MK again.

At first, I figured "maybe people like Cage and Sonya could sit out of this game," but when I found out Jax was confirmed, I was like "What the fuck?!?! They're bringing back Jax but not Sonya!?! That's bullshit!"

Cage, I can do without. I like him, but not enough to care if he's in or out. But if Jax is back, then Sonya sure as hell better be as well. I like her so much better, and I think many fans agree from what I've read.

I was never into Cage or Sonya from the very beginning. I thought they're stories were boring and stale from the start and I was neve rinto playing as them. For me, they brought nothing interesting to the table, so they could sit a game or two or six. Or they could just disappear forever and never come back. I really don't care.

However, I would like to point out that if the MK team felt obligated to bring back at least one Special Forces character, I'd rather have had Sonya over Jax any day. At least Sonya's hot.

yea, sonya and cage are popular... but their stories suck a$$..... I won't miss em in deception. Make room for the ppl that actually have somethin to add.

Most of you make good points, Cage sucks ass is an especially good one. He brings NOTHING to the game, his story, fatals, and just his presence in the game takes it down a couple notches. All he wants is fame and to make movies, a shallow fighter like him doesn't deserve to be in the MK series. Garbage in every sense of the word.

Sonya on the other hand, does have some limited appeal and a massive fanbase. They need to revamp her story though, give her a new purpose or something. It's old and stale, and definitely needs to be changed.

As for Jax, I think he could be a pretty decent character if they took him out of Sonya's shadow. He needs his own life, and his own purpose in the game. If Boon plays his cards right, he could turn Jax into someone people might like instead of some Sonya lacky with a machine gun. If redone, Jax might actually be worth our time to play as.

I agree that Sonya needs a new direction, infact I've read some pretty good ideas to that effect here....Also I agree that Jax needs to detach himself from Sonya's hip...also if they insist in putting him in the game, I'm afraid I'll have to insist that they at least bring him back to his MK2 Days, This was really the only game I like him in, he kicked ass and had cool moves. Not like the nonsense that took place in DA.

I already like Ben more than Johnny Cage. Ben looks cooler and isn't a damn movie star!

I do think that Jax needs to go in his own direction, thats my opinion. He needs to stop being Sonyas beyatch IMO, i dont think we need 2 special forces that basically do the same thing. If one, then Sonya. But i do like Jax better.

Yea, but regardless, when Deception comes out... Jax is going to be "the guy who really should've been Sonya!"
i don't think it will be easy, at least for me, to think of Jax as his own character... he will always be Sonya's partner, Sonya's B!tch.
Kitana doesn't need Lui Kang to be her own solid character... Scorpion doesn't need his fued with Sub-Zero to be interestin, he just is... Jax needs Sonya..Sonya doesn't need Jax

I think Jax is an awesome character. Why aren't people willing to give Jax a chance? Out of ALL MK characters I've seen, Jax has shown the most personality. He may look gangster but at least he expresses himself. Jax belongs in MK more than a damn movie star! At least Jax has had military training. I'm glad to see Jax back. I just hope they make Jax an independent character with a different storyline NOT involving the Special Forces.

I like Sonya, Cage I can do without. Jax is alright. I hope he develops his own character more. Maybe being out of Sonya's shadow will give him a better chance.

About the story issues, I wont even pay attention since there are like more then 24 worst stories so far in characters who have huge potential but keep doing the same stuff like Kitana, Raiden, Cyrax, and especially Scorpion.

About Cage, all I have to say is that he has added one awesome feeling to the game and that will always have a part in the heart of MK. Even though his story is lacking of originality, it can still change for the best. Cage is one awesome model who can’t just be thrown away to the garbage.

He has potential, reason why he has lived so long.

About Sonya, she has everything a powerful character needs to be loved and be popular. She is the main female fighter and has some amazing special moves and fatalities. She is definitely considered a must in the game, no other character has evolved in special moves, speed and power since MK1 like Sonya has.
