It would be great if they could somehow pull that off. You can write anything you want for your custom character's name and have it announced at the end of a round, fatality, or whatever, that would be sweet.

That would be cool, nut I think the only way the announcer will say your character's name is if they give you a list of names to choose from.

If they don't I hope the announcer at least doesn't say "PLAYER 1 wins," or "DEFAULT wins." I hate when games do that.

I, too, was thinking about this! The ability of the MK announcer to announce the name of your custom character in MKD.

The MK team could build a voice engine that pronounces text. There are such programs that you can download from the internet!

They could even add different letter accents, such as long vowel sounds and short vowel sounds, example: A: lake (long) and lack (short).

They could add letter combination sounds such as: sh (shoot), ch (chips), th (thorn), etc.

They could even add silent letters. (lake, 'e' is silent)

Like I said above, all the MK team needs to do is build a voice engine in the game that recognizes and pronounces text bundles.

Would that delay the game, or would it be no trouble to do? That sounds like a good idea, but I'd hate to have to wait another few months just for that.

Does anyone remember the screen where you enter your record in MK4 arcade? It had the announcer pronounce the sounds of the letters of your name. I think that the developers could kick that feature up a notch and have the voice of the announcer pronounce your full name.

I would be more then happy to wait for something like that, seeing as it would be completely amazing to hear the announcer say your name correctly
