I was gonna say 'of course you can' but come to think of it, I can't find him in the netherealm anymore either.
One thing they royally screwed up on in this game(aside from alot of other things in Konquest) was the training...the training for each character should've been unlocked after you fought them so you wouldn't have to always go trudging around Konquest whenever you need to brush up.

Yea I asked this question about a week ago and no one had an answer. Doesnt look like you can. The only other times I have ran across him was just fights for koins.
