Even if it is canon, what does it matter? It'll just be another chapter of stupidity in MK's already sketchy mythology and the MK series will just resume like usual. It's not like they're going to kill off characters from the MK mythology in this game or anything. I mean Midway are very, very stupid, but they're not that stupid, even I give them more credit than that. So regardless of whether it's canon or not it's entirely inconsequential.
