Ok, I've got a few ideas:

Jax-tonfas work for Stryker, but Jax is another story, I think something along the lines of a combat knife, type thing, and he could fight with the Militech system or Krav Magda

Kobra-Hand-bo, it fits him

Mavado, since he's got those ropes, give him a 9 section whip chain, or rope dart, or something along those lines

Fujin-a 3 section staff, it's perfect for him

Motaro-God Sword

Rain-Schmiter

Nitara- Cat with 9 tails

Reiko-he should summon Chuck Norris to fight for him

Sektor- A double pulse blade, Like Darth Maul from Star Wars

Kintaro-4 maces

Sheeva- 4 kamas

Johnny Cage & Liu Kang- One could maybe have a double Nunchuku style, and one a single one.

Sub-Zero- needs a weapon that changes it's nature, since he has the power to create things (for example, on clubbing attacks, it would be the Kori blade, but on jabbing attacks it would be something smaller.)

Stryker- How about one style that offers an array of police force tactics, for example, handcuffs as a stun move, Taser as a knock down move, Billy Club for a pop up move.

Sektor- How about some sort of blade that comes out of his flame thrower?

Rain- Some sort of arabian Scimitar, given his look.

al11697 is right about the axe, a psychic possessing a barbarians weapon? Nightwolf already had the tomahawks, give Ermac some sort of weapon made of telekinetic energ like Yoshimitsu in Tekken. that would be cool.

Scorpion-two or one flamming mugai ryu
Sub-Zero- liked the MKD and MKDA
Reptile-hell yah with the Kireashi
Rain-Give Rain either the Kwan Do or staff or some sorta pike weapon
Noob- a staff with a double edged ax on both ends. kinda like a symbiotic material
Smoke: i could never figure what kind of weapon because of the smoke surrounding him so something he makes out of smoke, but for a projectile weapon give him a bow which he makes out of smoke. Crossbow or Longbow.

I love that idea about giving Johnny Cage and Liu Kang single and double nunchuck (please forgive my spelling) styles. I'd give the doubles to Cage, it's seems a little more flashy and Hollywood, Props to ErmacMK5

i was just thinking. it would be cool if some character had a weapon made of energy. like shinnok could have one made of dark energy or ermac one made of green energy. I hope that Nitara has a kama with a chain. I just think those look cooler than dual wielding kamas. It's kind of a long shot, but oh well.

Stryker should have a riot baton, like police have. That'd be cool.

Sonya or some other special forces person should have CQC with a knife a la MGS3 as their weapon style. That'd kick ass.

Finally, I myself think this would be awesome, others may disagree, but I hope that (since he has been mentioned) Meat can tear off one of his own limbs to use as a weapon. He is a bloody skeleton after all.

I'd say you can get rid of the weapon styles for some of the cast, since each character will only have two styles total. I wouldn't mind Fujin or Liu Kang having two unarmed styles, and hell, Jax has those big metal arms. He don't need a tonfa.

Imo some of the weapon choises midway did with the charaters didnt make any sense at all, and I have been saying the same about the fighting styles since MKDA but staying in topic some changes should be made...definetly...


Imo the most crucial reason on what weapon to give to whom, is that the weapon should fit the characters personality and who he/she is and what is the history of him/her. Otherwise some of the weapons could be misplaced (as well as the styles) as other wise we will see things like giving Kitana a huge axe or to baraka a pulse blade(just bad examples but you'll get the idea?)

here are my suggestions...

1. Liu - no need for a weapon, can rely on unarmed styles (he's the champ), or if given a weapon some shaolin weapon naturally (he is afterall a shaolin monk, for god sake)

2. Jax - no need, has those frigging metal arms, can use them for knocking some skulls

3. Subby - didnt really like the kori blade (too massive for a "ninja") either no weapon (freezes opponents, then breaks them, why stab or slash them) or something more "ninja"-ish or smoother and lighter kori blade...

4. Raiden - Staff
5. Baraka - obviously blades from arms...

6. Fujin - could use like a jo-lenght staff (jade had a jo-staff in MKT) with blades on either end. Lets call it a wind staff for a lack of a better name. He could use it like spinning it around a lot and slashing with it instead of thrusting...

7. Nightwolf - tomahawks, nuff said

8. Scorpion - could ditch the ninja sword, and use the robe with the kunai on the end and spin it around, use it for choking, slashing and stuff like that...

9. Rain - could use the curved daggers, they seem fitting

10. Sonya - a pair of telescope baton's used by the military, police and security agencies for ground control etc...could use them similarly like kali sticks...

11. Kitana, Mileena, Jade - all obvious choises (fan-, sai-, jo staff like in MKT)

Jade: She should have her Iron Staff from MKT and use Chinese staff fighting techniques.

Jax: The Mae Sun Sowks are a good choice for him, imo, since he uses Muay Thai. The Mae Sun Sowks are sort of like the Thai version of the Tonfa.

Johnny Cage: The Nunchaku are fine for him.

Kabal: He should of course keep his Hookswords.

Kai: I think he should have his Ghurka Knife from MK4/MKG.

Kano: He should keep his Butterfly Knives from MKDA only if he uses them in a brutal, chaotic way instead of the Shaolin way like he did in MKDA.

Kenshi: He should keep his Katana and I'd like to see his stance be more like the one Mitsurugi from the Soul Calibur games uses.

Khameleon: I think she should wield one Kama.

Kintaro: His Saber Teeth are fine, I guess.

Kira: Her Dragon Teeth are fine. She just needs to use them differently from Kano. Funny thing is that her Dragon Teeth look like the knife Kano used in the first MK movie.

Kitana: Steel Fans are fine for her of course.

Kobra: none; I think he should keep Shorin Ryu and Kickboxing, namely using American Kickboxing. However, I wouldn't mind if he used the Tekko, which are basically brass knuckle weapons from Okinawa.

Kung Lao: none; I think he should have Bei Shaolin Quan (Northern Shaolin Fist) and Qi Xing Tanglang Quan (Seven Star Praying Mantis Fist).

Li Mei: none; I think she should keep Liu He Ba Fa and Mi Zong.

Liu Kang: I think he should use the San Jie Gun (3-Section Staff), a Chinese weapon associated with Shaolin and is similar to the Nunchaku.

Mavado: I think the pair of Chinese Broadswords that Quan Chi used in MKDA would fit Mavado a lot better.

Meat: For him, I think he should be the only character to have 2 weapon styles. I was thinking one of them would be a pair of Bone Clubs while the other style would be a Bone Staff.

Mileena: Her Sai are fine.

Mokap: none; I think he should have 2 unarmed styles, one of them comprising of the basic moves from the older MK games and the other style making him like the MK version of Ogre.

Moloch: His Ball n' Chain are fine.

Motaro: I think he should use a Jousting Lance.

Nightwolf: Tomahawks are fine for him.

Nitara: Her pair of Kama are fine for her.

Noob Saibot: Despite what Chrome says, I think Noob is fine with a Scythe. Either that or Noob should just have 2 unarmed styles.

Onaga: the Scepter that he had in Raiden's MKDA ending

Quan Chi: the Staff weapon that he had in those MKDA concept drawings

Raiden: his Lightning Staff, in which he uses Bojutsu techniques and stance

Rain: I guess the Storm Sword is fine for him...

Reiko: none; I'd rather see him with Baji Quan and Pi Gua Zhang

Reptile: The Kirehashi Blade is fine for him.

Sareena: I guess the Demon Fang is fine for her...

Scorpion: He should use a Ninja-To that has a curved, wakizashi length blade, circular hand guard, and katana length handle and scabbard unlike the crappy ass sword he had since MKDA.

Sektor: A pair of red Pulse Blades like in his versus screen pose are fine for him..

Sindel: I'd actually like to see her with a whip.

Smoke: none; I'd rather see him with Mi Tzu and Fan Zi.

Sonya: Kali Sticks are fine for her.

Stryker: Nightsticks are fine for him.

Sub-Zero: I don't mind him keeping the Kori Blade as long as it's good in terms of gameplay at least.

Tanya: none; for those that want her with her Kobujutsu weapon, well, there are problems with that. First off, Kobujutsu is not a weapon. In a Ryukyuan (Okinawan) context, Kobujutsu/Kobudo refers to the usage of various Okinawan weapons such as the Sai, Tonfa, Bo, Kama, and Nunchaku. Those 5 are the main weapons of Okinawan Kobujutsu/Kobudo. However, there are other weapons used such as the Eku, Tekko, etc. The problem is that Tanya's weapon is one that isn't used in Okinawan Kobujutsu, and if it is, I've never heard of it or seen it. So basically, it's one big fuck up on the MK team's part. Anyway, I think she should use Gou Chuan (Dog Fist) and Yue Chuan (Yue Fist).

Taven: I suppose his Drakesword is fine for him.

Blaze) I'm not quite sure, possibly a Flaming Scimitar?

Bo'Rai Cho) Jojutsu is fine for him. The simple weapon reflects his simple and manner free attitude.

Cyrax) Pulse Blade is great. Cyrax is a technological character and the Pulse Blade is a technological weapon.

Chameleon) Not much has been revealed about the current Chameleon so choosing a weapon now would be tough considering he's only existed as a copycat character before.

Daegon) Again, we do not know enough about this character to choose a weapon.

Dairou) Autumn Dao is ok. No weapon would also be ok for him.

Darrius) The Gauntlets were ok on him but they fit Goro better. Two hand to hand styles for him I think.

Dhramin) Iron Club is fine.

Ermac) The Axe is ok for Ermac, especially with the way it's detailed. He should keep it for Armageddon.

Frost) The Ice Daggers are great for her.

Fujin) Blah, another sword. The MK team seemed to have gotten lazy and they gave swords to characters when they couldn't think of a better weapon. I say "Can't think of a good weapon? Give them two fighting styles instead."

Goro) Gaunlets suit him better then the Dragon Fangs.

Havik) The Morning Star is good for him.

Hotaru) Naginata is ok for Hotaru and I can't think of anything better myself.

Hsu Hao) I've always disliked the Sun Moon Blades. The chinese name for hookswords translates to "Heaven and Earth Sun Moon Sword" so I'm guessing thats where they got the idea for the weapon since Mavado had the Hookswords in DA. I hope Hsu Hao gets two hand to hand fighting styles or the Sun Moon Blades are redone.

Jade) She needs a staff that looks like the one she had in UMK3

Jarek) I've heard about his Kick Axe. I suppose this is ok for Jarek, atleast it's not another sword.

Jax) I think the Tonfa are great for Jax.

Johnny Cage) The Nunchaku are perfect for cage. A very flashy weapon for a very flashy guy.

Kabal) Now that he's back, the Hookswords should remain his.

Kai) A Machete is good for Kai, as he seems to be an outdoors in the jungle kinda guy, this is a weapon he would be skilled with.

Kano) I LOVED the big Butterfly Knives he had in DA. Knives have been a part of Kano's character since the original MK and he should keep them.

Kenshi) His story is based around being a swordsman so of course he will always have his Katana.

Khameleon) Possibly a trident as it in a way combines a bo and a sai(two of the three weapons of the characters she imitated in MKT64).

Kintaro) Saber Teeth is plural for Saber Tooth. A Saber Tooth is a prehistoric animal. They've expanded on Kintaro's tigerness in MKA so this is a great weapon for him.

Kira) Her Dragon Teeth are fine for her.

Kitana) The Steel Fans are classic and will always be with her.

Kobra) Give the Kali Sticks back to Sonya. He should have two hand to hand fighting styles as he's more of a brawler style character.

Kung Lao) Please give him his Bladed Hat as a weapon! The broadsword was just meh.

Li Mei) Blah, another sword. Kunlun Dao is ok but she could go weaponless.

Liu Kang) The chains on his arms + hooks would be great for him.

Mavado) Just let him have two hand to hand fighting styels.

Meat) A weapon made out of bone perhaps?

Mileena) Just like Kitana, her Sai are classic and they will always be with her.

Mokap) He knows many fighting styles and should be given two hand to hand styles.

Moloch) Steel Ball of course.

Motaro) A lance would be fantastic for him.

Rain) The Storm Sword is ok, just kinda lacking in the originality department.

Reiko) The Devastator suits him well.

Reptile) Since the Kirehashi is a Saurian weapon, he should keep it.

Sareena) Demon Fangs... well she is a demon. The MK Team needs to be a bit more creative though.

Scorpion) Mugai Ryu is alright since he was a ninja while living, but I liked him better with the UMK3 Axe.

Sektor) Having two of the same weapon seems to fit him better then other characters for some reason. Dual Pulse Blades it is.

Shang Tsung) He seems to have the most basic weapon with his Straight Sword. I suppose someone needs to have this plain jane weapon.

Shao Kahn) Wrath Hammer of course.

Sheeva) I've yet to see the Shokan Daggers but they sound fine.

I don't think Kung Lao's hat would make for a practical weapon and the broadsword suits him. It is a Chinese broadsword afterall.



Liu Kang's zombie form is the only one that has those chains and his alt will be the spirit or living form (or both if he has three costumes) so I think he should have two fighting styles instead.



Like Kung Lao's hat, I don't think the boomerang would make for a practical weapon so I think she should keep her weapons from Deception.

Apart from these I agree with your choices.

I totally agree on that. I think it should be more javelin like. Not a staff with yellow nobby things on the ends. Keep the saff part, but make the ends pointy or with blades of some sort.

AND I think the swords need drastic help. It seems there are only 3 styles for swords. Example: Li mei and scorpion have the same stance....that kind of disappointed me.
