Here is my list :

Happy returning : Sub-Zero, Ermac, Scorpion, Kabal, Mileena, Smoke, Kenshi, Sindel, Noob, Baraka, some others.

Want to return : Kung Lao, Mavado (storyline-wise), Reptile, Sareena, Rain, Sektor, Jade, Raiden, Shao Khan (maybe as a playable character; like when Shang Tsung was the main boss in MK1 and become a playable character in MKII; along the same lines).

Glad not returning : Nitara, Stryker, almost all the new characters from Deadly Alliance (except those noted), Sonya, Jax, Kano, Sheeva, Johnny Cage, Sheeva, Goro, Kitana (became a real storyline wimp after MK2), many others.

Fuck No : Li Mei, Liu Kang (skeptical, but might work), Tanya (maybe will be interesting), Bo'Rai'Cho.

So far I am quite pleased with the character list in MKD.

Mainly Im glad the Red and Black Dragon arent returning. Well most of them anyway, ie Mavado, Hsu Hao, Kano and Jarek. Im also pretty please Frost isn't returning. Sh was a Sub-Zero and Kitana rip off. Resembled Kitana in many ways, with Sub Zero's moves.
Im Glad that Sonya, Jax, Johnny Cage, Cyrax, Shinnok, Reiko and Chameleon arent making a return too.

I would rather not have seen Quan Chi, Noob, Ermac, Kenshi, Tanya, Scorpion return. They all suck. As do most of the new MK:DA characters.

I want Kitana, Kai, Rain, Kung Lao, Shang Tsung, Sareena, Jade and possibly Nitara to return.

Glad Sonya, Jax, Kano, Johnny Cage and Hsu Hao are gone. I find them tiresome.

Glad Noob, Kabal, and (according to rumors) Sektor and Sareena are in. Noob, Kabal, and Sektor are personal favorites and I've been waiting for Sareena for a while now.

Disappointed that there's no Kitana or Quan Chi. Other personal favorites. But at least they're not dead as of now, so they can come back in the future.

I was hoping BRC wasnt gonna make it, but now Im afraid he is in. Other than that, the only character I never want to see again is Mokap.

I thought characters such as Shang Tsung, Quan Chi, Mavado and Bo' Rai Cho are going to be in this game.

Jax, Sonya, Kano - the first two I'm sick of, and the third, it seems, is finally dead. Hallelujah!
Cage - Get a storyline or else. Please. Anything.

I think all of the new characters look cool and are some of the best character designs since MkII. Some of the characters such as Nightwolf or Bo Rai Cho, i dont mind, im not fond of their stories, but they are good characters as far as playability goes.
