DANG ESPANOL (my bad)

What really pisses me off is that people can't distinguish Spanish from Portuguese. That's something to expect from americans though since they seldom seem to realize there's a world outside their borders.

ouch to the americans!!!!!!
i did meet some americans while in south africa a few months ago, they were so arrogant and treated the south african waiters like a lower-class species, not to mention they were louder than everyone else in the restaurant.
probably and hopefully most americans aren't like this but these are the only ones i've ever met.
most americans i've met on this here forum are great people though
as for the forum i have no idea what he said but i'm sure the thread will continue without me

I hope that was right....I tried using a translator to get that paragraph.
And hey! I am an American and am fully aware that there is a world outside of the US borders. Crap! I live just north of one. Don't be so steroetypical in your judgements, it would be like me saying that all French people are rude, all Russians are hairy brutes who drink vodka all day. Its not true or right to think that way.
Note: I do admit that most Americans are loud...*sigh* Must be something to do with the music. As for the rude Americans in Afica, they were most likely some snobs which we average Americans can't even stand ourselves.

Hahahaha. Did you Babelfish that? Run it backwards through the translator.
I'd also like to point out that you "average" Americans are the snobs. I wouldn't classify yourself as an average American, because most stereotypes for America are true.

Olá. Desculpe, mas esse é um fórum em inglês, e poucas pessoas daqui além de mim e você entendem português aqui. Então, tente falar em inglês, para que os outros possam entender, certo? :) A propósito, em que cidade você mora?

If you want me to say something to him, just tell me, he's probably brazilian too.

No I used an online translator and I did admit to it. I am more familiar with English, know a few words in Swedish and Spanish but that's about it. Shame on me for going to public school.
As for Americans being snobs...who is more snobbish us who admit to having a few snobs among us and admit to our own faults or someone who bringing up and believing in stereotypes such as yourself. Hmmmmm......
Anyways, that will be the last time I'll try to be polite to a new member. At least I tried which is more that some can say.

...That doesn't make sense. Stereotypes exist for a reason you know. I'd also like to point out that 'snob' and 'asshole' are completely different. I'm the latter.

Steoretype: A conventional, formulaic, and oversimplified conception, opinion, or image.
Snob: One who affects an offensive air of self-satisfied superiority in matters of taste or intellect.
I guess I am being a snob for posting these definitions. Note: Asshole is just a more offensive term meaning snob, was trying to keep my language clean but if you insist.
Thats the end of me even looking at this thread. Flame back all you want. I do apologize if I have offended anyone else in regards to this, but like so many of you I am getting sick and tired of being treated as a villian, idiot, etc. all because of the nation I live in.

| FLSTYLE Wrote: that was so uncalled for. we're trying to have a nice conversation about people we've met on our travels, there's no need for you to force your "opinions" on us. that just goes against logic, you could say that about any country and there would be people in that country to what you've said can be accounted for. |
I'm serious. Stereotypes refer to the common peoples (eg: average).

I know for a fact that I'm not a stereotypical american snob. But I also know that I am in the minority here in the US. Most people here are practically retarded but they think they're smart. I just had to put in my two cents.

i'm an american. and yes, i happen to be loud, ignorant, dumb, and racist. i laugh at burps, farts, and any other disturbing noise. i believe all cultrues are less than mine. i live off ham burgers and freedom fries while watching monster trucks ram each other in my $10.00 mobile home. my mullet has now grown to a total of 8 inches and my neck is the reddist it has ever been. yehaa.
