they just decided not to release it for pc.
secondly mortal kombat is an intense fast paced game. i know pc gamers can use joysticks but standard's a keyboard. yo'd end upo breaking it into bits playing this game.

I'd like it, but I think they don't release for PC anymore because of money lost to computer piracy.

The majority of fighting games (Tekken/Soul Calibur and of course Mortal Kombat) have been published without a PC in mind (bar MK4 hmmk wink).
Hell, i bought a PS2 JUST for fighting games.
Well...mostly for fighting games :D

Converting a fighting game to PC is a bit of work and you don't have a XXXX amount of guaranteed sales.

Not everyone has a controller hooked up and there are many different controllers out there (4 button/8button/etc.) so you'll have a smaller market.
Consoles come with controllers and a keyboard is optional in most cases.

Compatibility is the next hurdle to jump...what are your minimum system specs and which percantage comps can handle said game.

Next up is the eternal fanboy-ism.
If you have a monster PC, you'll want to have better graphics than you see on a PS2/Xbox.
Scalability takes up even more time to create.

And there will always be ppl nagging about "direct port" and "platform inherent" specialities.

In the end, it's a more profitable decision to go for consoles rather than a PC.
The upside is the possibility to patch the game to remove bugs though.

I'm also a dude who realy would like MKD converted to pc.. it's been far to long since we had a (descent) fighting game on pc.. I bought my PS2 only for those games (and of course, the games that accidently get by..) but I think that piracy can't be an issue anymore because it's just as common in the console world with those chips than on pc.. and I don't know, I like playing MKT on my keyboard.. it's easy and clean.. but hey, that's just me..

I'd love it if more fighting games came out on the PC platform, but sadly enough there are hardly any.
Heh, it would've saved me quite some $$ if i hadn't bought a PS2, but i like the other games on it too.
Aaah well...can't win em all eh ?

No, they didn't.

Back at E3 2002, we had asked about a PC version of MK: Deadly Alliance. Midway told us that they had made very little money off of their PC ports, so they didn't see a point in continuing to make them. Despite people who might SAY such a port was popular, the fact is that it is the sales that determine whether a software title was successful. Midway's past experiences taught them that the PC versions wouldn't be worth the cost of development, so they stopped making them.

In short, there will not be a PC version of Deception, no matter how many people ask.

Hope this helps...
