Could anyone defeat Onaga by his own?!!!!

gaming wise yes, storyline wise it doesnt look like it.

Either Shujinko or Sub-Zero has the power. I'm leaning towards the cold being this reptilian tyrant's weakness. I can see Shujinko dying fighting an immortal Onaga.

No, not by themselves... that's what Noob Smoke was created for
The guy might not be that powerful... I think the point of the intro movie was to show is immunity to elemental/super powers, I think ultimatley he will have to face off in mortal kombat hand to hand style and that's the key to defeating him... I guess think somethign like motaro in mk3, immune to projectiles.

Interesting!!! a good twist to re-install the 1 on 1 rather than chaos war...

in mkda, they did say that it was dragonkings undefeatable army, but nothing of dragon king, maybe subzero beats him because the dragon medallion origionally was used to make dragons stronger by aging them, which i read somwhere that it does.

Hang on. If it makes dragons stronger, than that implies Sub-Zero'd powers could be of dragon origin. I remember hearing something about if Onaga drinks the blood of The Last Dragon (The last Sub-Zero) he gains immortality. Maybe Subby poisons his blood or something?

ya you know who, havent you noticed that sub zero is bald in this one, its starting to take its toll on him and i also read that in this game he is going to find out something about his medallion that he didnt know about, i also saw on that same place that the first sub zero was going to return, so im not too sure if its a reliable source, i think it was daves mortalkombat, but not sure

i just noticed something, maybe subzero finds out that the amulet is the source of the dragon kings power and he destroyes it and makes the dragon king vulnerable, like shinnok and his medallion, or scroll, or whatever he had where quan chi made a copy and gave shinnok the fake and lui kang beat him

lol.....exactly.

While we're speculating, I can see Quan Chi leaving behind a fake Ammulet. This could be enchanted to be like a bomb or something for when the Dragon King gets weakened.

Someone also touched upon this in another thread I believe...and might have in this thread.
Death Traps may be the only way to defeat Onaga.
It would be interesting if this were the case...I think this thought was spawned from one of the new vids released recently? A scene that had someone fighting Onaga...hitting him...but eventually losing, and being knocked onto the spikes surrounding the ring, with DK saying "Flawless victory".....how can it be flawless if he was hit? So now people have begun speculating, that you can't hit, and damage Onaga...but just simply use attacks, to hopefully knock him into a death trap.
EDIT: Actually, after looking at the "Official Movie 2" on gamespot....it could have cut away, to a new fight scene...so what I said above could be off...it may just LOOK like it was from the same fight, but probably was a different fight scene completely, just had the same fighters.

Shujinko and Sub could. Shujinko can do everything basically. Subby will freeze the bastard.
The great Liu Kang will send him to hell.
That's storywise.
Gameplay, everyone especially those with cheap specials.

I don't think his victory was really flawless. He just said that because he's an arrogant bastard. As that guy was beating on Onaga, you could hear his 'danger' noise which meant that he was almost defeated. These speculations are foolish, he's only a boss. Anybody can beat Onaga, he'll just be tough.

Ok, the fake amulet thing really doesn't make sense. Yeah. While Raiden was blowing up the world, Quan Chi thought to himself, "Boy, I should pull out this fake amulet and leave it behind so that big scary Dragon thing thinks he has all the power, but it'll still be me."
More likely it was, "Mommy! Mommy! Help meeee!!" followed by nothing as he and Shang Tsung were vaporized in the blast and returned to the Netherrealm.
Only the real amulet could've possibly survived that blast.

If a mortal Raiden could have survived that blast, and escaped, I don't see how Shang and Quan couldn't have.
Why would Mileena have Shang listed as an ally if he's dead? I believe he'll be mentioned in a few stories, and will be watching from the sidelines, at the very least.

Maybe thats the deception.... Mileena is using the dragon king so Shang can do something..
Also baraka is working for quan chi and same story there and in the end it's going to be Baraka vs. Mileena to see who has the ultimate master cuz Quan and Shang will probably turn against each other...

Personally I think Rayden can beat Onago on his own.
this may be off topic and sorry about it but why is that you find people spell the thunder gods name either as
Rayden
or
Raiden
