dont know if this has been posted before, if it has i apologize, but i was reading this on gamespot!

"The last potential member of the cast--which we'll admit is a long shot, but we'll throw it out there anyway--could be Shao Kahn. During the dramatic cuts in parts of the trailer, a very Shao Kahn-like helmet appears several times. We never actually see him in action at all, so we may be stoking the sure-to-be-busy rumor mill, but we'd like to think that we know our skull-shaped metallic helmets pretty well."

its towards the end of the 2nd paragraph)

The "helmet" in the trailer is not a helmet and part of Quan Chi's throne chair.

Regardless, I think Shao is back.

As do I... I think we'll see Shao in MK:D... but not as a playable character or anything, but in the FMV and as a behind the scenes type guy bideing his time, waiting for the right moment to gather allies, strength, and to strike and wage war against the DK's rule.

I dont think it was Kahns helemt in the trailer though, but he'll be back. If we dont see him in MK:D rest assured we havent seen the last of Kahn, he will return stronger and more pissed off than ever.

I hope so. Shao Kahn is still the best boss in MK history and even in all fighting games to this date.

I always thought that the "Deception" title that is being advertised for the 6th Mortal Kombat is actually related to Shao Kahn--that all of the events taking place after his appearance in MK2 (realm takeovers, Earth invasions, Shinnok and Quan Chi battling for amulets, etc.) was all one huge elaborate deception to get everyone thinking that there are these powerful sorcerers and Dragon Kings and stuff wanting to take over realms and such but that they really don't exist.

In reality, Shao Kahn was the REAL creator of the first original Mortal Kombat tournament and used a variety of magic to create these elaborate but false illusions to add further treachery and chaos to a martial arts torunament that was originally supposed to me a competitive sport for honor and fame. So now, all of the warriors who are back in Deception THINK that there is this big Dragon King trying to control the realms and such, but in reality, the Dragon King is a false illusion, just like Shang Tsung's appearance in MK1 was, just like Liu Kang's death was, just like everything else was.

And this next Mortal Kombat is just Shao Kahn's evil way at making the MK contest more eviler than it already is. It's like an evil test--to see if warriors will self-annihilate themselves.

So, to add further deception, Shao Kahn really never was this powerful ruler or sorcerer of Outworld trying tot ake over the realms and such. He was just using magic and stuff ever since the very first MK1 to make the tournament more evil!

Anybody agree or disagree?

That sounds like something from an "Outer Limits" episode... Very freaky, I like it. But i don't see how some of it would work though.

Okay, the article said that Kahn COULD BE in MKD, which is just a 50/50 guess. The helmet they saw would probably be Sub-Zero's, since he was in the trailer, and it is very Kahn-like.

I'd actually like to see him dissapear for a while. He's a wicked boss. I don't think I'd like to play as him though, he should be the FINAL boss and he should be unplayable and super strong with lots of knockbacks and a wicked huge hammer.

I agree i think Kahn is the best threat to earth realm in any MK game i hope he comes back as the main threat to earth realm and see Kahn as the ultimate evil to defeat

I never got to a chance to see the trailer (connection problems! Dang). Anyway here are my 2 cents worth:
The helmet could be Sub-Zero', since both his and Kahns does look like 'Shredder's' from Ninja Turtles.
Also, Quan Chi or somebody could have stolen the helmet, and now keeping it as a trophy?
Regardless, I do hope our evil emperor returns.

I think that in some way or another we will see Shao Kahn. In the trailer it did look like Kahn's helment but it also look liked one of the Dragon King's "unbeatable army" men.

Boon did say that all the past MK fighters would be in MK:Deception but I thought they would only be in the Konquest mode. I could be wrong as always but I thought that is what he said.

It is IMPOSSIBLE that it is Kahn's helmet. It was a brown skull without the V metal on top, it didn't even have a hollow inside and was attached to something. That skull is 99.9999% part of Quan Chi's throne (and it makes sense since Baraka has allied with Quan Chi in MKD).

The only other object that skull could be is Quan Chi's LIVING WEAPON but that is only a 0.000000001% chance.

Whether Kahn is back or not, picture this. Shao kahn is the sub boss in MK6, then after you defeat him, the Dragon king appears and destroys Kahn once and for all. This is good for two reasons, firstly you get to see kahn in 3D, and see him back in the series. Secondly, you get to see Kahn at the mercy of the Dragon King, begging for his life like a baby. Remember the Dragon King is much more ancient and powerful than Kahn.

Maybe too streetfighter like, some people will know what i mean by that last senctence.

Are you suggesting that the Dragon King is the equivalent of Akuma and Kahn of Bison? Heh, ludicrous. Bison pwns all!!!

Kahn must return as a NORMAL playable character for a game or two, so people can see more sides of the evil maniac.
I completely disagree. Making Kahn a playable character hurts his "aura"...if you make him playable, he suddenly becomes one of us...he must be levels above everyone else, he must be untouchable. The only way he should be playable, is you utilize cheat codes. Whether he's a secret character in this...a la Smoke, or Jade...or a boss...just don't put him on the character select screen.
