I've always had a certain hate for Cyborgs. I thought the original Smoke was awesome, and then the cyborg version just messed it up. What do you think of Cyborgs? Should they be included in MK8? confused

Only if they're cyborg rhinos, aardvarks, gorrilas, or elephants.

I do have a like for all three of the cyborgs, but when it comes to really streamlining the story and roster, I'd probably suggest having Sektor come back in a future game, not in MK8. You could have Cyrax as the protagonist in the Tekunin story, but personally, cyborgs aren't high on the list of characters that I really want to see return. So ultimately, it's up in the air.

I like the cyborg story-arc that MK implemented with Cyrax, Sektor and Smoke...I think that there should only be one Cyborg in the new MK and that should be an updated improved cyborg, I have been working on creating Grymix who is the next generation of cyborg. I'd like to see that. But overall...I don't mind them, think that Sektor and Cyrax should R.I.P. now though!

I think that if some of the old fighters are coming back, they need to at least bring Sektor back to be the main threat to Sub-Zero and the Lin Kuei. Without Sektor, Sub-Zero is going to be a pretty boring character to see in MK8.

If they were to kill off any of the cyborgs, my bet is that Cyrax would be the first to go. Sektor stays for Sub-Zero, and Smoke...well...Smoke's my favorite charactergrin

Yah, Sektor and Smoke both have that whole thing going with the Lin Kuei. No real use for Cyrax anymore.

I never minded the cyborgs, though I understand why some think they don't "belong" in Mortal Kombat. Since MK is a fantasy type of story and cyborgs are more sci-fi type characters they do seem somewhat out of place. Because of that, I think any cyborg presence should be kept minimal, if at all.

If any cyborgs continue, I say keep Sektor. He's the only pure cyborg left and his Tekunin story has only just started. While I think Sub-Zero should be promoted to more "main event" level stories, if he's to have a secondary feud, I'd want it to be with Sektor....who I think should be built as his antithesis.

If they keep Smoke around, I think they should keep going with his elemental/ethereal appearance and continue to distance him from being one of the cyborgs. Cyrax though....I think he's run his course and killing him would be a good way of establishing Sektor as a threat.

I don't want to see any new cyborg characters though. Any Tekunin members should be kept in the background and non-playable.

Has anyone thought of the possiblity that Sub will be brought back as a cyborg. I would hate it, but maybe they would revamp him like that. Boon has done some questionble things before e.g. What he did to Smoke and Reptile, and you can't forget Stryker and Mokap

Me, I could really take or leave them.
As a late inclusion the cyber-ninja have always struck me as the embodiment of MK's weaknesses in an era where character design was iconic, but limited. I think they've done well to develop story around them, which has helped us all become accustomed to expecting a weird fusion of martial arts mysticism and technology in the MK mythos. That said, I think it's probably one of the more expendable qualities in the series.

I wasn't much of a fan of what they did with Smoke and Noob. I think that was a diservice to both characters that felt very rushed. I don't think either really benefitted from strong design, or progression in their placing in the MK universe.

Sektor and Cyrax, on the other hand, have developed very well.
I think their connection to the action/adventure/sci-fi elements of MK really does well to seperate them from the core MK story. For a very long time I've loved the idea of a Special Forces sequel and think those characters could live-on quite well in an Earthbound spin-off from the series.

There's arguments both ways for that demanding autonomy from the central games. To bring it all back to the start -- I could really take or leave the cyborgs; Jax included.

Hell, I'm not saying that this guy's ending is true but, what if Jax was to be automated? They would make him look different of course, and probably better than the last three.
As I said, Sektor should return, as well as Cyrax. Smoke could comeback human!

To me cyborgs don't really fit in well with MK. I think they have had thier run.

Cyborgs were one of the HUGE reasons MK3-UMK3 were awful games for me. took away from all the mythology.

In a more forum way of saying things, "They were fucking gay and I hated them."

they should have a story line in the new mk with the cyborgs all being killed then the special forces building a new cyborg character out of the nuts n bolts and body parts of the dead ones that would be cool

If they work well into the story then they should be given at least a thought to be included

I don't care for cyborgs much. They're to scifi, and they detract from all the mythological goodness that MK has to offer. I'd be more than happy if they left them out of this future release. Actually, I'd be ecstatic!
Cyrax should (imo) return to humanity, but use sleek OIA tech to still fight.

Sektor could stay, if he's not killed. But at least add a new Tekunin.

Smoke should turn back to human. Period.
