He is the enemy of Cyrax.
At any rate, we need both of them in. One can balance out the other.

I think Cyrax is a little more popular. People used to love the green net. It's one of those moves that really sticks out in people's minds, like the spear or Johnny's nut punch.
Sektor's fans just had more reason to make noise in recent years, since they had to wait all the way until Armageddon to play as him while Cyrax got to be in DA and Smoke made it into Deception.
That said, there's always a chance one of the cyberninjas might make it in, but I couldn't really guess which one. They're kinda iconic.

It's possible you're projecting your own opinion as a majority one when it's not.
When I was a kid and MK3 was popular in the arcades, the way I remember it is that everyone liked to play Cyrax, because Scorpion wasn't in the game and the closest you could get to him was Cyrax because he was a yellow ninja, and the net reeled your opponent in for a free hit just like the spear.
...and then they unlocked Smoke and it was a huge deal, because it was the first time in MK history a hidden character was playable, and he actually did have a spear.
My point is, people didn't like Sektor nearly as much as the other two.
I realize it's different now in the 3D era, because they took away Cyrax's net and hidden characters aren't an important thing anymore. But that's what it was like back in the day.

Midway has fucked up cyrax now. Did you see that ridiculous alt. costume for Cyrax on MKA? I still play the 2D MK games. I understand that Cyrax was popular on MK3, and probally UMK3. Now, Cyrax is so unpopular now. Sektor is kind of too, but im just saying Sektor has a little better chance of making it then Cyrax. Neither will make it now, only cyborg I see making it in Mk vs DC is Smoke. You are right though about Cyrax being more popular then Sektor back in 2D, but its different now.

I wouldn't consider any cyborgs iconic... I actually see them as a contribution to the downfall of MK's populairty (along with many other attributes from MK3).

... not really. They were allies at one point. They are definitely NOT like Scorpion and Sub-Zero.

Cyrax and Sektor are not even close to compare them with Sub-Zero and Scorpion.
First off, Sub-Zero and Scorpion has a history back in MK1. This rivalry involves more than just two people (It actually involves 3, but the real rivalry has always been 2, only, depending on which Sub-Zero is involve, the older or the younger brother)
Anyways,
The whole storyline behind both Sektor and Cyrax have nothing to compare with Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Seeing that they were once human, then turned to evil which one of them managed to change into good with the help of other MK characters.
Sure both of these characters were once allies, but Sub-Zero and Scorpion are not.. really... they may not be after each other now, but there's nothing saying that this rivalry may not come back.
But then Sektor and Cyrax went seperate ways, Cyrax turned good and joined with Sonya and whoever the fuck works with her while Sektor has a loose wire going on and wants world domination with his Tekunin army.
But ehh... there was never once in a MK game with these two that had them both going after each other. Technically, they're not enemies at all, seeing how after Cyrax turned good, he never once fought Sektor after that.
So uh... that kinda ends my theory.
CHEERS!

I'd like to see him in there, but only if he has green net move.

If we're resigned to the fact the Justice League are going to make-up the majority of DC's contribution, and there'll be a strong story steering the game, then it stands to reason MK's side could include the OIA to tackle the 'event' from their side.
I'd like to think Cyrax has the best shot of the trio even if only for being the most developed. He kinda stole Smoke's happy ending, and got to spiral out into his own wacky adventures with the OIA.
And heck, wouldn't it be fun to save Sektor and the Tekunin for a future MK game? If MKvsDC gets the interdimensional itch out of everybody's system, I could see boss potential for Sektor!

I <3 you're idea!!!
I always thought Sektor could be a possible boss, ever since I played Konquest on Armageddon. I must say, that whole entire level with him and the Tekunin has to be one of the best parts of the game. There should be a boss opportunity for him.

In order to help lessen the strain on this forum I have stickied a thread to the top of the page that discusses all characters and how iconic they are as well as their realistic chances of being in the game. Please help me by posting all character related questions, concerns and great thoughts within that thread to alleviate the amount of specific character threads. Thanks guys!
