Im back..

Sorry to barge in on the conversation.You idea about the league is good.
Like the idea about each player takes turn in picking thier character first to cancel out serial counter pickers.
But....With league games mostly everyone will be so desperate to win only about 6 or so characters will be used.

As a suggestion why not have rule where player that picks first if he/she picks low tier the other player is obliged to pick low as well so all characters are used.

Or maybe think of new rule to encourage use of all those fun to play crap characters no-one like to use when it counts.

Your suggestion is good. However, it's not really practical. The problem I've always had is who decides what's high tier and what's low tier? Yes some characters have crazy combo that drains energy bar but say for example, I suck with Quan Chi, therefore in my books Quan Chi is my low tier character UNTIL I learn to use him the right way. I've seen Monk play Kai and he pretty much kicks ass with him and same can be said for my and Wrath's Li Mei.

Personally, I don't have a tier list. I just play with whatever character I see. They all have strengths and weaknesses and no one character has it all.

Yes....Thats a valid point....
Like for example they say tanya is top tier but to me shes a poor character as I cannot use her as well as others can.
Hopefully people will manage themselves and try to take risks by using a great range of characters rather than play safe with the usual characters.

What about picking boss,s..Is first picker allowed to pick a monster boss..as the second picker can decide if they want to use a monster boss as well.I bet their are a few monster boss lovers out their who just cant get fights due to the fact that people abuse them and second pick one on your regular character.
Maybe only allow one per series.
Perhaps even use a Kak.But for that you would realy need consent off the opponent to see if he has a Kak to use.
Basically what im saying is all the characters including monster bosses and kaks are good provided they are used in moderation and the opponent is fully aware and is given oppurtunity to decide and not tricked into the fight .
I just hate it when I pick for example kia and they suddenly switch and goto a kak and trick me into a fight I wont win.

We're planning on launching a new form of tournament. Everone gets to play each other over course of the tournament. It'd run in form of a league.

Let me change the suggestion slightly:

- You may only choose a boss character or KAK
when it is your turn to select first.

- Your opponent may then decide to pick a Boss character or KAK himself
or choose a normal character an gain the right
to fight a boss vs non-boss against you the next round.

If he uses a normal character against your Boss character or KAK,
then you have to take a normal character,
when he chooses a boss character or KAK the next match.

- The classification between High tier and Low tier is too difficult to define,
in my opinion


2nd: Why not stick to the rule we used for such tournaments in the past:

- a character may be used 4 times. (in the series first to ten)
If it gets to 9-10 you gotta know three characters, I think that's fair.
(with bosses and KAK allowed like the idea above very fair)

I agree with you DP. I hear what Vile and Jasmin are saying but I think we need to this as nice and simple as possible.

- 10 matches (NOT first to 10)
- Blood/Fatality and DT off
- NO BOSS (Anyone that can't be thrown should be classed as a boss), NO KAK
- Maximum usage of a character through series = 1

These rules should make it very competitive as well as very fun.

We should get started next week.

I forgot to update the list with IGIVEUP. with regards to KINGKONG, he hasn't specifically stated he'd be interested. We don't want to have to chase people up for outstanding matches (if you what I mean). But I do agree that the more people we can get onboard the better. I think we should be able to allow people to join at a later date so SubCiro is in (provisionally).

Myth says: DUDE, you are really addicted to this game. The doctor told you not to play for a few days, yet I see you online the same evening, and now you even play 39 matches!!!!
No wonder it doesn't heal as expected!

My advice: listen to your wife, give her the PS2 controller for a week and then afterwards you play your matches. Doesn't matter if we start earlier, you are so much online you will catch up with us within a few days! what do I say, days, I mean hours!!!
