DA VS deception

I thought MKDA was better as far as gameplay. MKDA didn't have "god-tier" characters unlike MKD did which were Dairou, Bo Rai Cho, and Noob-Smoke. All the characters were fairly balanced in MKDA.

MKDA was the best. It was a great rebirth to the franchise! It had a new band of actual interesting characters and i liked the fatalitys even though characters only had one. But many of the fatalitys rocked such as Cyrax's,Jax's,Drahmin's ect. And it also had a nice and deep story. MKDA also had some ACTUAL funny unlockable content. And each time you unlocked a character it felt amazing. Its not like in MKD and MKA where once you unlocked a character you played with them once and than got bored. I mean DA just had some great characters and was a great atempt at cleaning the slate, that is before MKD came along and brought back everything old. MKD just brought back too much old.

Deception is better.
-It has that essential dark, evil, and intense atmosphere instead of DA's colorful and mythological vibes.
-A better roster with some of the coolest MK characters ever (i.e. Mileena, Baraka, Ermac, Sindel, Smoke, Jade, and Noob).
-Better and funner juggles. Useful combo breakers and more elaborate Throws.
-More than twice the amount of finishers per characters than DA.
-A vastly improved Konquest mode. It was phenomenal in comparison.
-Fantastic new features (death traps, hara-kiris, chess kombat, puzzle kombat, online play, etc.)
-Much better background music for everything. I mean it was real and intruiging this time.
-Better arenas. Yin/Yang Island, Slaughterhouse, Dark Prison, Sky Temple, and Bettle Lair are all SPECTACULAR arenas. They are classic kombat zones in my book.
-A more interesting boss and sub-boss.
Deception was pretty much better than DA in every way except that the animations were somewhat stiffer and the gameplay was somewhat slower. Also, DA had better new characters though. None of Deception's new characters interesting me at all, which sucked. Oh and DA also had better unlockables. So there's only 4 things DA beats Deception at.

MK:DA
MK: DA fighting system is far more fast pace and more hand to hand and less special moves, than Deception. You can attack and counter attack(counter attack in like 4-5 ways) in the blink of a eye. Heck you can even counter attack a person while the other person is doing a combo, if you wait for the right gap in a combo, so that you don't have to side step or while till that persons combo is done to counter attack.
The problem with MK: Deception's is that all the moves aren't safe. Its pretty much the first person to attack is pretty much done, because they are stunned there for a long time.In MK: DA you have to be fast to counter attack. In MK: DA some moves recovered fast and others slow. All of MK: Deception moves recover slow, thus making it a 1st attack = loser game.
The controls in MK: DA are far far more respondve than Deception. Deception felt like controlling stiff figthers. As I said above attacking first in MK: Deception and most of the time in MK: A, is a death wish.
MK: Deception's throws really pissed me off. Throwing is one of the reasons I stopped playing Street Fighter 2 in the 90s early and started playing MK 1. Street Fighter 2's "throws" and MK: Deception "throws" are the same since both have characters grab a oppentant and do a series of attacks , then throw the oppentant(In SF2 case lets them go). Cheap crap. All other MK games, but MK: Deception and MK: A, have those lame throws. Very few characters in MK: DA had "throws" that had combos with them. If they did, they...
1. Didn't do that much damage
2. You can block them , unlike MK: Deception, and MK: A.
3. A throw was a throw.
I hope MK8 doesn't have type of throws. Throwing should have been like 2-D mks and or MK: DA, when a person just threw a oppentant and is blockable.
Konquest: In MK: DA you got the storyline from previous MKs and some leadup storylines that had something to do with the story. In the end all the storylines were tied up nicely between Konquest, character bios, and ending, not to mention ending on The Dragon Kings return.
MK: Deception Konquest is boring and most of the time didn't go anywhere. The game had nearly no direction in story telling.
Mini games like Puzzle fighter, chess, and motor kombat in Mortal Kombat are pointless, to a fighting game. MK: DA like it or hate it was a fighting game as it was. MK: Deception is just a lame version of MK: DA, with pointless mini games to a Fighting game. I can't but feel if the MK team focused on the fighting engine it would have been a far better game. MK: A was a step in the right direction with the parry and wake-up. Think if that had been in MK: Deception, then MK: A could have built on that.
Characters MK: DA
Deception is just had generic looking characters , like Kobra( generic looking white guy) and Dirrus (generic looking black guy), no style at all. Not to mention the MK Team just swapped out fighting styles from past fighters from DA. In generial MK: DA has the best new creative characters.
MK: DA had a more looking new cooler characters, new appreaice to mentor(FROST), A blind guy that could fight(Kenshi), to seek revenge, Old man out for revenage for a student (Bo Chi), and a woman trying to help her people(Li Mei). Mavado was sort of cool. Hsu Hao..... wait he was just a idiot, that just follows with mavado tells him to do. I hope he never comes back.
MK: DA - geared toward fighting, which every MK game should be.
Deception- Geared toward the more gimmick side of Mortal Kombat. As someone said above. MK: Decepton brought back too much old, and didn't give anything that new to the fighting more so. It just felt too cheap in general.
Mortal Kombat 8 , I can't wait.

deadly alliance had a great story, they picked two guys (quan chi andd shang tsung) that we are used to see serving two other big bosses (shinnok and kahn), made them the bosses of the game, and killed the big bad-ass MK guy (shao kahn) and the main hero, the character that you would never think of seeing defeated, liu kang.. this controverse story was just what MK was needing since mk4... i loved it
deception was good too because of the uppercut, the much darker look, hara-kiris..etc.. it felt more like 90's Mortal Kombat... although the story of deception was not that good.. i don't know, maybe i'll choose deadly alliance as a better game.. and still, i prefer the new characters of deadly alliance than the deception ones. frost, li mei, kenshi, moloch etc are better than darrius, dairou, hotaro, havik etc. as i said, deception has a MUCH darker look than deadly alliance, but i prefer deadly alliance's look.=)

alright let me make this fast MKDA is crap MKD rocks!
Honestly, in terms of characters and plot construction, MKDA wins hands down, I mean did anyone honestly see it coming that they would kill off Lui Kang (ok, they did bring him back, which i kinda hated, but still...) and that the three fighting styles would work as well as they did. Granted there were problems, but it was nice that they mixed up everything and gave it a truly great start. The story itself was amazing, it made me want to keep pushing through with each character to see what would happen, how Kung Lao went for revenge, and how Frost betrayed Sub-Zero, i really admired the thought that went into it. And speaking of characters, MKDA had the best assortment of new characters than any MK game that came to the trilogy. Kenshi, Frost, and Bo Rai'Cho stood out for me, making me wish that they had been included in the orignal games. Granted I thought the weakest new character was Nitara, but she still worked for the game. Awesome ideas.
But in terms of replay and stages, MKD wins. The stages in MKDA were BEAUTIFUL don't get me wrong, but there wasn't much to do in them. Sinply for the fact that they brought back alot of classics (Acid pool, The Pit, Courtyard arena) and added a bunch of new, bigger stages (Sky Temple, Golden Desert, Falling Cliffs) and I think they balanced it perfectly in terms of how many stages have death traps, and how many have just multiple levels. and Konquest mode, though cheap and sometimes boring, lets you live in the MK world, searching for unlockables and interacting with almost every character from the MK world. it's a pretty cool idea, and it was a pretty fun time waster when you first played it. The new characters for this game, with maybe the exception of Havik, werent as up to par with the one's from MKDA in my opinion. So all in all, MKDA is my fav. but it's pretty close.

mkDa is in fight against mk gold for the best 3d mk game!
mk Gold rocked, and also mk da!
mk da have a faster, better, more real, innovative gamplay.it have a slo a damn high replayabitly value and have 576 koffins against 450 of deception, and the empty koffins are just few.
deception's konquest mode is terrible, even tough it have a good storyline and give you the chance to travel troughout all mk realms,it have shujinko that is the most idiotical character ever.
in mkda scorpion is badass,in deception he is a fag elder gods champion!
in mkda there aren't useness charaters and konquest mode is very innovatine and explains what happened to characters such like sheeva and motaro.
instead deception adds more doubt and plotholes on mk storyline.
Onaga is pretty stupid eve tough he's kool, but i prefer Moloch easier to defeat and more rbutal.
in armageddon you can see clearly Moloch to be stronger than onaga.
in mkda there are the best fatalities such like reptile's,cage's,cyrax's,etc.
in mk decetion there are good fatalities but not as good as mkda.
hara-kiri sucks
chess kombat is useness 'cause it havem't any tactic in it:all you have to do is avoid the traps and go straight to the leader;and you have to fight,so if you'e very good to the game can defeat a sorcerer wìusing a common warrior.
puzzle kombat is funny, but we really need super deformed versions of fighters?same for motor kombat, are this mode serious?
