I just realized I never posted this here. This is my post in Gerchap's thread at MKAC....

Wow, I don't know how I missed this damn thread for so long. I've been PM'ing people left and right about this subject...

First off, here's some of my thoughts about the game (some of you have already heard this).

Deception is VERY different from MKA. Shorter clock, 3 stances, no aerial game, and most noticeably, the overall gameplay focuses on 50/50's. More aggressive. That's not everyone's cup of tea, so they'll stick with MKA exclusively. But what I'm suggesting not abandoning MKA. I'm suggesting that we just add Deception back into the mix so that you can switch it up between the two very different games. You know? Play which ever you're in the mood for. Both games have their faults, no question. But we all played Deception for 2 years and had fun with it. That same fun can be had if you go into it with the understanding that IT'S NOT MKA. Character Tiers are different, the feel is different, combo damage is different, etc. I think it would be really fun to mix it up between the 2 games.

But you need a community of players for that to work. So here's my idea..

What if we get a list of committed guys for Deception on this (or another) thread. Maybe let Gerchap know if you're interested in playing some Deception and he can add you to the list. Basically, if you're on the list, you're saying that you'll be up for getting the game and mixing in some Deception with MKA (or sticking with Deception alltogether, whatever).

We'll see what the list starts to look like so people can decide if they want to pick the game up. I think the game is only like $10. But I know for me personally, I'm not going to get a copy unless I know for sure there are going to be a decent number of guys playing it.

If you don't like Deception, cool. But if you do, let it be known. Hopefully this list will get all the Deception fans together so we can re-create a MKD community to go along the MKA community.

I haven't seen him yet, but DRSIceman says he does.

And of course, there's the guys that play it exclusively.

Like I said at MKAC. I was reassured today that playing BOTH MKA and MKD will work. I got on Deception today, saw that a few guys on the list were playing MKA, so I invited them. A few minutes later, both Giga and MeSoFly showed up. So it's not difficult to set up some games.

You guys should try mixing it up between both games. It's fun to go back and forth.

I would join you guys but the truth of the matter is that I suck at MKD..lol. Not exactly! I just prefer MKA and I think I'm better at MKA. But if you guys are serious about pluggin back infor MKD then I may be down.

It would definitely take some getting used to again with no good jumping, 3 styles not 2 and no parrie's, wake up.

Chaos..it will be quite an adjustment. and i fear it will be hard for me to be good at both...but you can count Mav in....just let me know when peeps will be on.

Chaos...just had an idea...how about make a day dedicated to deception play...maybe Deception Sundays or something...tell me what you thingk

@MKF, you're right. It takes some re-adjusting to play Deception. That's part of the fun in my view. I didn't realize until I played it today how fast-paced and frantic it is. The reason is because (as you pointed out) there are no parries, wake-ups, jumping, or any of the "defensive" measures that are prevalent in MKA. Like I said, go into knowing that it's COMPLETELY different, and it will be fun as opposed to aggravating. The reason I'm proposing this is because they are so different. I've gone back and forth between MKA and MKD already, and to me, it makes them both seem almost refreshing after playing the other.

@Mav. I've definitely been thinking of ways to organize some games on Deception. And having like a "Deception-Sunday" type of thing was one of my ideas. But, honestly, I don't think it would work. I have no idea where I'll be or what I'll be doing on Sunday for instance. It would just be too hard to organize that. It's kind of the same thing that makes the Tier List and/or Tournaments difficult to do.

However, after playing today, I've come to the conclusion that there's another way. In fact, I like this way better, myself....

Put your name out there for playing Deception. Currently, this is who plays MKA and is interested in MKD.....

Those are the guys who have either verbally committed to playing or I've seen them playing Deception. So (like I did today), I'll be checking my Friend's List to see who's on before I get online (I think that's called the Dashboard?). Most likely, they'll be on MKA. If I'm in the mood to play Deception, I'll see who on my Friend's List plays Deception, and shoot them some invites. Today, MeSo and Giga showed up in like 5 minutes.

If they don't show up, that tells you they're either busy or not in the mood. So I'd either turn it off, or join in on MKA. That's the cool part, really. You have more options when playing now.

Oh and I forgot to mention...

Keep throwing this out there to people. Mention it around or ask people personally if they're interested. That's what I'm going to keep doing.

Make that list grow a little bit.

Yep, pretty much it's a nobrainer. The two games are totally different as far as tactic. One game is all offense and corner trapping 50/50's with plants, the other is more defensive.

god damnt, now when I go back I'm going to get burned left and right. I tried playing offline with mesofly and it was awful, I can't tell you how many times I tried to parry, jump, bla bla bla bla bla you get it. I'm not sure I wiill play MK D but can't wait to get my 360 to play umk3 , I will go back and learn that

if you guys really want though I'll bring darius back into the fold. Oh wait a minute, no KAKs?!?!?! count me out

Hey stretch what's up? BTW, hey pig I saw that thread lol wow what a crazy thread. The one that got closed in General I've noticed.

I was just laughing at the fact that some people said that Xbox sucks ha, ha.

Let them play me in MKD I'll change that real fast.

As good as I feel I am in MKA, I'm much better I've know in MKD, UMK3, MKT, MK4 for sure.

MKA I've noticed I'm more selective with characters Fujin, Dairou, Kabal, Mavado mainly then Ermac, Chameleon etc.

Anyhow, I might get on this week on MKD if I can find it lol. It's in my room somewhere.

i was enjoying getting all sorts of reaction out of them. I'll say most proplr dont play mk anymore because they can't compete with the best. Every mk game is broken justsome are good enough to deal with it

Yea it was my favorite but I'm on with MK A now and I'll play UMK3 because i havnt played it since i was around 16.

I might consider it later on.

Since you were 16?? I actually thought you were like 45 or something... Relax oink man!!! I'm just playing with you!

I need to get my 360 back online I think I've missed out UMK3. The controller put me off but I'll try and get a new one.

I was on last night and got in a few games with L3oogeyman (or something like that). Played a good 30 matches or so in a row before we finally got disconnected. Then a few more matches with a newbie (jenninne I think was the GT) and called it a night.

I'm rusty as hell having not played this online close to a year ago 'till last night. But last nights practice matches put me back into the groove.

I'll be back on online tonight if ya'll wanna get in some games.
