I totally agree with you. I didnt actually think id like konquest as much as i did, But i loved it. Plus this game has the best cast of characters of any mk (imo).

I agree with everything, but it being the best MK to date. MK2 is the best to date IMO, BUT this is a close 2nd especially with Online play and 24+chars(yes plus you people in doubt)

I dunno, my favorite was always MK3 Ultimate. I still don't get why most people say they love 2 the best, since it always seemed to me that MK3 is just like MK2 except with more characters and more extra fun things you can do. Then again, I never really played 2. ^_^;; I think I tried it in the arcades once but Kitana or somebody kickked my ass so I got annoyed and never played it again. :P So I shouldn't talk.
MK3 Ultimate is my favorite 2D MK. MK4 bored me so I never picked up DA, but I am very very obsessively happy with Deception. Konquest mode was/is lots of fun, puzzle fighting blows Tetris out of the water, and the cast of characters (with possibly more super unlockables on the way) is amazing. I would say I like Deception even more than MK3. Of course, I'm happy with anything so long as Noob is there... I do miss his clone throw and smoke ball though, and really wish they'd give him more of his own moves. But hey, rumor has it that you can unlock him by himself, so maybe then he'll have more of his own moves and styles ^_^

I'm puzzeled, I like MK2 just as much as the next guy but I sure won't kid myself and state that MK2 is a better game than MKD. Think about it for a second, the gameplay was very shallow and the only thing that separated the characters from each other were the special attacks such as fireballs and what-not. They all had the same HP, LP, HK, LK and it was purely just a race to see the fatality. MKD has multiple fighting stances that make each character feel and play differently and it forces you to really learn the characters basic moves as well as the speacial ones. Not just sweeps, roundehouses, and uppercuts.
I beleive what many of you like about MK2 is the nostalgia, which is what I love about it. But trust me when I say this, it's a guarantee that you will be playing MKD and not MK2 and if you are playing MK2 then I stand corrected. The reason is that the gameplay in this version is supererior, and gameplay wins over nostalgia in the end.
