Yep.

Ed Boon: "I'd like to have [DLC] as soon as possible. I think that might be a great Christmas gift to reinvigorate the game."

GAMEDaily Article

Also mentions the next MK Movie, aswell as MK9.

'Thoughts?

Great post! I hope the add something to unlock in the game, I miss the krypt. This game, in my opinion, is a better fighter than MKD but this game is missing all of the extras MKD offered. If we could only get the fighting from MKvsDC and the extras/unlockables/Konquest Mode from MKD we would have a great MK game!

Assuming that article is correct then from my own understanding of it,is that w.e DLC we get during or around Christmas should be free otherwise its not really a gift then is it?

Cool! Hopefully , it's Quan Chi. He really had a big role for a NPC , makes me wonder if he wasn't supposed to playable but got dropped for some reason.

As for the DC side , Martian Manhunter or *picks name from metaphorical hat* Doctor Fate.

Yeah , that'll do.

Anyone who has unlocked the extra characters will know that there is plenty of room for DLC characters......

Martian Manhunter, You know how happy I would be to have him in game. I can still hope. glasses

Anyway this interview was great. MK is the longest running franchise of any fighting game. I hope this series go on for ages to come. Would be lost without it, as I'm sure many other fans would be to.

That's an awesome interview. I'm looking forward to DLC this Christmas.

I hope they add characters from both sides, MK and DC, add some more backgrounds.

I fucking lol'd when he basically said Captain Marvel fit better into MK than Marian Manhunter. The stupidity of that just made my day.
Favorite part of the interview was lol

BIZ: I predict no matter what direction they take the movie in, they'll leave out the techno soundtrack.

BOON:: I hope you're right.

Cause I liked the Techo music in MK:Annihilation.

I'm crossing my fingers for Kabal and Johnny Cage. I mean seriously how could they have Flash and not Kabal . But I liked how they referenced Kabal When Kano fought Flash and Kano says " You'd give Kabal a run for his money." Who Johnny Cage could parallel idk but I want him in it .

Excellent Article. I look forward to the DLC. Also, it's good to know they're already planning MK9.

One thing did catch my attention though:

"We assumed the only way DC would accept this game was to make a T-rated game." - Ed Boon.

This makes me wonder (considering some of their comics) if DC could have been persuaded to do a rated M game in opening negotiations. Ya know, if the MK team didn't go in with that assumption from the get go. Not that it matters now I suppose, but it just got me thinking.

Yeah ha like for example if you asked someone for some money and you expect like maybe 5 bucks and you just ask for that 5 bucks. Then they look at you and pull out the 5 bucks and hide that they were about to give you like 10 more dollars. Then they put that 10 dollars back in there pocket when your gone. And you realize DAMN I could have gotten more.

Same thing goes like what your saying. Who knows maybe DC could have been persuaded into it. But according to Boon he was assuming they wouldn't agree to it so they stuck with it and didn't ask.

I guess it never hurts to ask but like you said its too late for that.tongue

Well let's think about it. Justice League was a completely different type of game. MM has psychic powers, super strength, flight, and morphing ability if I remember.

I can see how he would be alot harder to put into a fighting game then someone who does not have predictable shape shifting abilities (unlike Shang.) It makes total sense to have Captain Marvel in it over him, as his abilities are canned right into the name he yells.

This got me a bit worried

"Right now we're looking at how this game performs and I think it will have a good amount to do with what features we put in the next game."

I hope the next MK isn't MK vs DC without DC and just more features.

What, are you stoned?
Captain Marvel is a human with magical powers. Of course he fits MK better than a martian. He fits the MK universe better than ANYONE else on the DC side except perhaps Deathstroke.

Not that I don't like J'onn or anything. I want him for DLC as much as anybody. I'm just saying Ed's right.

As much as I'd like there to be some DLC by Christmas, I'd caution everyone to not get their hopes up too much. Boon's careful not to set anything in stone in the interview (can't say I blame him). What he would "like" to happen and what he "thinks" might happen by Christmas aren't necessarily the same thing as giving us release dates for it. I will say, it's nice to see that Boon's very receptive to the idea and that adding new characters is a definite possibility. I guess I'm a little dubious after Soul Calibur 4, a game I love but has completely wasted some great opportunities to make use of DLC to keep people interested in the game.
